PhelborePhasing Sequence is an Experimental effect that does slight damage through shields. There's no defense, but it does drop 10% of the weapon's base damage. I'm not sure if it'll do module damage, the description is unclear.

So the weapon does 10% less damage, but penetrates shields? Well that explains it then. Wouldn't take much from a rail gun round or that plasma gun, to do enough module damage to take it out.

For 10% less damage but not having to bugger around with the ai's incessant use of shield boosters, I'd figure this sort of experimental engineered effect to be almost standard... I was actually contemplating not even using a shield with my vulture, while I was figuring out how I wanted to assign those optional internals. Now I might do it even more. Then I could put a internal module reinforcement package on board to help protect the buggers.

So, to put a neat little bow around my original predicament with the ai taking me out so casually.

The cause of my problem is ignorance, being uninformed of all the possibilities of weapons combined with engineered module stuffs.
It's so nice to be informed for once. Thanks everybody!

Xeniz
Since when does Scramble Spectrum work through shields? IIRC, it only procs when shields are down.

Well what the fuck is it that causes me random malfunctions during PvP fights then? It’s irritating.

I don’t have any current SS builds to try it.

Nope. Phasing only damages hull, not modules.

if I play ED on XBOX1, how do I import my pilots picture to my cmdrs file page?

Well fancy that - you did end up learning something!

The Phasing Experimental reduces the weapons max damage by 10%, however the damage done to hull through shields is 10% of that modified max damage.

Okay, so what you're saying is:
the weapons damage is reduced to 90% of stock design, so it "can" penetrate shields
But when it does Penetrate shields it is further reduced down to 10% of that hit which makes it only 9% of it's stock design damage to hull against a shielded target.

so what happens to the other 81%? is it depleting the shielded part still?

Yeah, it hits the shields.

Tyrran AndorWilliam, there is no loadout that the AI can equip that we players cannot. (...)

I'd like to point out that some NPCs do actually cheat, as proven a few times though youtube footage (PA being fired more frequently than it is possible on player ships due to thermal overload). There was even a case in which someone realized that NPCs seem to have a slight gimbal assist onto fixed 'heavy' weaponry, such as PA or Railguns.

Take a screenshot of your CMDR > share it to onedrive > using Microsoft Edge on the xbox go to your Inara account settings page > you should have the option to upload an image, select that option to open the file explorer > in the top left switch to onedrive, then find the image you want to use.

There may be easier ways, however this is how I do it.

Microgimbal on fixed weapons happens for players too. Now, I've seen NPCs without chaff launchers that have an endless supply of chaff...

The same for thrusters and powerplant you kill them to 0% and some how their shields go up and keep firing and manoeuvre .
The hit my generator of thrusters and iam dead in the water.

NPCs that I shoot out Drives on do go through a marked Reboot/Repair sequence from what I've seen. I've never seen them recover from a zeroed out PP.

(Wettoast) Wanda FersegiAnyone here going on the distant worlds 2 expedition ? ( Given that it still goes despite the fleet carriers and updated ice worlds not coming in chapter 4 )

I'm seriously considering it but it's a huge commitment and I'm a bit erratic at times. The last thing I want to do is sign up then drop out halfway through.

I'll probably decide after I've seen the chapter 4 beta.
