In open, mind you, or you won't get all the wakes.

SenpaiLJWhat is the best way, y'all have farmed ADWE (Atypical Disrupted Wake Echoes)?

I sit outside a CG station or other high traffic station in a fast ship with a wake scanner.

A CG station?

The station where a Community Goal is taking place.

Ahhhh, well I feel silly now.

No need to feel silly. There is a lot to know! And you do not need to go to a CG, any busy starport will provide wakes to scan.

If you are out Colonia way the very best station by far I've found in the galaxy for scans is Jacques Station. An hour there with a wake scanner is not time wasted.

Has anyone tried to land on the outside of a station? We have landing gear, so any large enough flatish surface, should be landable, no?

Do they have sentry guns for people who attempt to land? lol!
I'm really curious about it now, I'm sure we can also land on random asteroids in belts and stuff too if they have a large enough flat surface.

Maybe launch and SRV while landed on said station?
I'm sure the mass lock wouldn't provide enough gravity, the srv would prolly bounce right back into the ships drop-bay, haha!

Of course if you land on the habitation ring, you'll prolly get flung off due to the rotational axis, unless our landing gear are magnetic?

The way I see it (in pseudo-code speak) there are two types of landable surfaces in game.

If surface = landing pad then landing sequence occurs.

If surface = planetary surface and alignment+ship profile  = yes, then landing sequence occurs.

Anything else means that landing won't occur and collision takes place instead.

Sometimes I feel the need to get some minerals, via mining, to help out the station....

Now someone tell me why at an asteroid belt the limpet seems to last the full 720 seconds, yet at planetary rings the limpet seems to last at best for 3 fragments and Most of the time just 1.
I know it's not ramming any rocks, and I know it's not ramming me, but it expires always right after delivering the fragment from the rock I'm still in mining laser range of.

I'm not shooting my limpets, they just get 1 fragment and then expire immediately after dropping it off...
It's 4a refinery and 3a limpet controller. I can't figure out the error.

So the game is programmed for only certain surface for landing, ah well, maybe it's something to look forward to then....
Like when we have to have a crew of 10 for a ship in order to launch (retract docking ramp) from station.

Well it's a fun thought anyway.

That's what happens if you have the scooping target actually selected as target instead of letting the limpets roam. Incredibly stupid mechanic. IMO the limpet should go back to idle mode or start collecting whatever else is around after bringing in the selected piece with priority.

oh, so it's a programmed mechanic....
I only want this single fragment piece and not all the rest of those bits laying out there, so it's only 101 credits per limpet and it just means I don't have to hoover the rest of the stuff.  HAHA!

I'll be making sure to never target any fragments anymore with them out.

Strahd45i need a us based empire wing

You could try the filter in the wings page,
you can filter out the empire wings and look at the time zones.

Or better yet create your own wing.

It also moves much faster, making it useful for piracy.

Speaking as someone who has set up residence in Colonia, I can confirm that's accurate.

I'm not sure I'm following the question, but here's what I can tell you. I have landed near stations plenty of times and not gotten accosted by their sentries. I've actually landed at a station PAD and deployed my SRV (much to my surprise) and drive around the base. However, I discovered that my ship was no longer on the pad and wasn't inside...it had gone to orbit. I had to recall the ship....BUT, you can't recall a ship if you are within a certain radius of the station (or ruins, for that matter). You'll have to drive a prescribed distance away (your HUD will tell you). Anyway, if a planet/moon is landable, you can land anywhere your sensors indicate you can land....and I've pulled off some rather interesting landing angles before. BTW, I've also on occasion been able to recall my ship to pick my SRV up, only to find it wouldn't actually land...it just hovers in place. I've been able to get underneath (even at pretty significant distance) and get it to beam me up. It's pretty hilarious, really.

I believe William was talking about landing on orbital stations or objects in space and driving an SRV on them, not planetary installations.
