Both identical.
Have to try another experiment with the vertical & lateral thrusters.
- or maybe it only works on the Courier.

Phisto SobaniiNuran MukkaderSilver Taffer[...] Flight Assist OFF gives you a 25% extra power to thrust[...]
I can't believe I've been playing since the beginning and just heard of this. Ah, the fate of an eternal nooblet...
I’m not sure that’s correct. Flight Assist Off disables the automatic counter thrust you feel having it on. It’s not like you go faster than your top speed.
It's the maneuvering thrusters. With FAon you are hardcapped to 75% maximum speed when strafing or reversing. FAoff you get to 100%. Also acceleration is faster in FAoff. Deceleration is faster in FAon.

Nothing added, just no dampening effect of the main thruster when independent of the maneuvering thrusters.

Nixon CampbellMo RonikYeah, if I had a combat ship I'd go join the battle. My Cobra is still in the building stage. The closest next thing I have for combat is an Eagle with minimal jump range I built for bounty hunting in my home system.
Cobra Mk III, despite the weak shield and big top/bottom, makes a good fighting craft for three reasons:
1) Mediums placed on top, perfect for gimbals.
2) Ability to pull out of trouble pretty fast (for an unengineered ship).
3) Two C4 Internals than can be used for Hull/Module Reinforcement.
Although, you'd rather find yourself more in a support position rather than main force due to weaker shield. Especially if you REALLY think about equation Cobra Mk III + CZ.
Of course, there's always Diamondback Scout, which excells in combat. And there is that one ship a lot of people underestimate - Viper Mk III, being the best Light ship in usefulness/price/rebuy scheme.
To move fast and cheap among The Bubble, make a Hauler with D Modules (except for FSD). You end up having a dirt-cheap space taxi with ~30 ly range.
Actualy the cobra mk iv is even better than you think. a fully combat fitted engineerd cobra carries more armour internal protection , Than a miltiary grade armour of a T10 2300 to 2500 is not unusual depending on engineering and type of armour you use and internal protection.
a speed that rivals the DBS and boosts near combat courier speeds reaching 600 with ease. agility is damned good as well and in high CZ you will come on top almost every time including beeing targeted by multiple ships.

LyonhaertScubadogI suck so bad at flying with FA off. I just end up pointing all over the place wildly, especially with engineered thrusters.
Nobody is good at it when they first start. And one of the first things suggested in that series is to practice 'quieting' your ship's rotations. Subtle, brief inputs.
You can also use the fsa on off feature to make some corrective brakes to manouvers.
The viper mk iv is suprisingly forgiving for learning to fly FA off.

Seems most effective in hot fast combat and in station-drop maneuvers to correct huge ship drift and re-vectoring for fast docking.

I use FAoff for boost turns in my Corvette in CZ and elsewhere all the time. Helps greatly to keep those pesky small ships in your line of sight / fire as well as the Powerplant of the Cutter/Anaconda/Corvette targeted when they try to get past you.
Also I greatly enjoy the barbaric (hello Numa ) act of Ramming. Nothing more enjoyable then to have any of the big 3, Asp Explorer, Vulture or Cobra Mk.3 dancing on your hull. Haven't managed anything smaller yet.
And regarding docking - all of my ships have a DC.

Because it docks faster than we humans do since it doesn't have to look at the pad to hit it; and those short time bonus they give for stations that are within 100ls.
The internal optional slot being better used for something that helps my ship in other situations, since docking is not an issue for me to accomplish. as long as the AI decides to let the larger ship pass. . . .
I have gotten stuck once with my cutter in the mailslot because a asp-x was coming down the center line instead of his side. Eventually was able to force my way through, I took no dmg, not sure what happened to the asp-x.
Those mailslots are wide enough for two cutters to pass in opposing direction with no more than a shield touch, and probably even without touching shields.
However, for some unfathomable reason, the AI tells us to give way to larger vessels but won't do that for us when we are in a larger vessel.

500x150 jpg??am I doing something wrong?

ApexWandererWhy is it so difficult to find pictures that are the right size for my wing ?.
500x150 jpg??am I doing something wrong?
It can be a different aspect ratio, for example a square 150x150px. The size mentioned is the allowed maximum.

BrixmisGuys & Gals, how do I get my ship and its name to appear on my INARA sig? It's cleared in the preferences, but is missing on the sig.
Set your preferred ship as a main - via the ship edit or via the small "M" button in the fleet listing.

WilliamReaceI don't like using docking computers, the only one of my ships that has one, is the imperial eagle which I just use for data courier stuff.
Because it docks faster than we humans do since it doesn't have to look at the pad to hit it; and those short time bonus they give for stations that are within 100ls.

I can land manually too, but as you said, it docks faster. Plus there are times when I have to leave the computer quickly, so having the DC take over is quite a boon. In the end it's personal preference.
