Phisto SobaniiSo who’s excited for Chapter Four? Looks like a lot of juicy stuff coming our way.




No hype from me until it is delivered. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to more improvements but often what is promised is not necessarily what is delivered.



Yup! Krait Phantom has my eye along with the Exploration and Mining changes. Super happy those play styles are getting some love. Hear rumors about the Panther Clipper, as always, so looking forward to the inevitable posts about shieldless PCs getting blown up.


Krait Phantom! Now with only 75% of the papier mache armor you know and love! (speculation, less armor than the current Krait)

And I have to agree with Mugpie, I'm actually quite tired of seeing more medium and large ships. Small ships feel like they have been forgotten except in niche cases and could stand to have at least a few new competitive designs.

When I first heard about the fighter bay thing, I was thinking they meant to make it so the small ships like the eagle and viper and such could be launched from the large ones, you'd fit them how you wanted and let the "ai" take over or use it yourself.
Of course that isn't what we got, but what we got is still fun.


The actual thing is I like to fly small, cheap, nimble ships. SLF are nowhere close to ships like Viper Mk III, cause SLF are rather the disposable ordinance, like missiles, than can actually shoot back.

Yea, they are quite disposable, haha!
But I was thinking something like a gun with an engine, of course since the fighters are so tiny that's pretty much what they are; I wanted more gun than what they have.

I thought of a real good question, concerning the ai crew for fighters.

Do they take a larger percentage of the cut when they get higher rank?
Or do they keep the same measly amount when they rank up?

If they don't ask for more of the take when they raise in rank, then it might be beneficial to purchase lower skilled ones and level them up just to keep more for yourself, haha!

Crew gain rank and increase their rate of pay at each rank, however they do increase their rate of pay at different rates pending their starting rank.

A harmless crew member hired and advanced through the ranks to Elite will have a total of 10% profit share. (2% base rate, +8% from advancing 8 ranks)

An expert crew member hired and advanced through the ranks to Elite will have a total of 15% profit share. (12% base rate, +3% from advancing 4 ranks)

Don't be fooled, all of your crew will still collect their full profit share even when inactive.

I generally only keep one Elite (from harmless) crew member and hire an expert crew member for PvP or Potentially dangerous scenarios as the active crew member will die when your ship explodes.

Oh, so that's how it works. I was thinking about the Crew myself and I see now how it works. Hiring Harmless pups also seems to have some personal-level connectivity as well, seeing them grow as you foster them.

Is it my ship, or is it the fighter exploding?

Generally speaking I have not lost many ships.

Guh. Why is the only place to buy a 7B shield generator in the Colonia region an outpost that doesn't have any landing pads for a ship that can equip a 7 or 8- size component? I mean, I can park my ship right outside, they can shove it into one of their airlocks and I'll push the dang thing into my cargo scoop myself!

I agree, this seems to be the way to do it from a fun point of view. Not just to keep the cost down, but if you are going to take a Credits hit then at least you have the joy of a character that you feel attached to, and of course can fold into your RP. The only thing that gives me the jitters is this - If I nurture a character from harmless to Elite, how am I going to feel if they bite the bullet, and then that means I won't use them, and will hire higher ranked ones i don't care about to use, and end up costing me a fortune!

Oh well, I suppose you have to spend the Credits on something

I get the hired hands biting it when your ship does, that makes sense. But they also die if the little fighter blows up? That makes no sense to me, since they're not supposed to be physically present in the fighter.

Don't they die if the 'main' ship gets destroyed?
