Do you have bounties? have you defected your power play pledge to someone else? Are you in hostile powers systems?

Does anybody know if the Hireable Crew people change based on station?
Or have some kind of cycle based on a contingent thing like every other time you dock?

RenraikuDo you have bounties? have you defected your power play pledge to someone else? Are you in hostile powers systems?

Not made any pledge, there have been a bunch of PowerPlay guys in Apurui system, but they have just scanned me at stations, never interdicted me, always been wanted guys doing the interdicting.
Did I mention that I target the guy doing the interdicting before I decide what to do about it?

Kari Kerenski Are you carrying any cargo?

Pretty much always, why bother flying a transport if your not carrying any cargo? that's more wasted space than actually filling the space with something.
I wonder if you knew the answer to that question before asking it?

Phelbore Has your combat rank gone up?

Combat rank hasn't changed in a long time, the ship I'm using at the moment isn't meant to get the best of ships that are Designed for combat.
And most of them that are trying to interdict me are larger ships or more well armed ships, with Master/Dangerous/Deadly combat rankings...
This transport really wouldn't do that well vs them, since it's been stripped of most other needless weight in favor of cargo.

Kari Kerenski What state is your system in?

Never checked, that's a good question indeed.
I know it shows the system state when you jump to it, so I should pay attention to that, but rarely do I.

oh, another question about the "e-mail" in game...
When they send you a reputation change update, why are some a Flag icon but most just a standard e-mail icon?
23 Oct 2018, 7:19am
Crew selection changes per Crew Lounge. Not sure about the flags.

No I did not - you didn't mention that you were flying a transport and I don't have a clairvoyance module installed.

Pirates go after ships with cargo, so maybe that's why they are attacking you.

Well you had a real good idea for the first question, then your second question was ridiculous, so I thought you were smart and just trying to be funny with the follow-up.

I would also add to the history of said interdictions in said systems:  Flying between ports without exiting the system to get cargo from another station tends to incur the same attempts at taking my empty cargo's cargo from said Piracy endeavors.

WilliamReace oct 15, 2018
Last night there was a novice, it interdicted me and wanted the cargo, but I was empty so I submitted and we both scanned each other. Then he turns to leave and I follow him till I'm like 2 or 3 hundred meters from him target his power core and start firing....
His ship exploded and I didn't do any dmg to his core but he never once turned to avoid my line of fire and just let me tear up his stern. I imagine if his engines were targeted they'd prolly have been destroyed.

[that's ten pages deep on (11) at the time of this posting]

I am curious if cargo scanners work in supercruise?  Probably not since they do the interdicting thing first, but if it's AI they are just programmed to do it that way.

What is so ridiculous about asking you if you were carrying cargo?

Half my ships have no cargo bays for very good reason.

No, manifest scanners don't work in supercruise.

The lore-friendly explanation I have for myself is that pirates have tip-offs same as we do. They have members, agents and spies on various stations, and loose lips on the docks get the pirates on your tail when you leave with cargo. Doesn't explain how they know I've had a good day mining, but it does explain why they're never a problem when I fly empty. Sure beats resigning myself to the fact that the game cheats.

Yea: tip-off's, inside men, turncoats; makes the most sense out of politics anyway.
I agree that they must have someone letting them know who's got what as far as when you have a mission going. But when you are cargoless, have no tasks accepted, and are empty between stations. the reasons for it drops to absolute 0.

As for game mechanics, the ai has to cheat [most noticeable in Turn-Based Strategy and Real-Time Strategy] to make things challenging, otherwise the ai would not be fun to play against for most people who prefer it.
Take all the challenge and excitement of said challenge away, it's no longer fun and becomes monotony.

Is it possible to join more than one Wing

SuluapygIs it possible to join more than one Wing

No, but you can support other wings if you like - (click Support this Wing on their home page)

This allows you to view any missions they may have set as visible to supporters.

I don't know... a tip-off of "I hear this guy was running LTDs recently and he's in system now!" could do it. Or sending a troublesome underling after you so you'll kill them and solve a problem...

yea, alright, sure, send the henchman you don't want around anymore after the guy so he'll get killed; oh but escape pods and infinite respawn, that didn't work. ah well, better luck next time.

AI searching for loot the old fashioned way, stop every transport till good loot spills from the hold?
24 Oct 2018, 4:49pm
Renraiku that makes sense.
Follow the logic that they don't know instead of do know (even though ai knows everything game related), and stopping everyone who has ever hauled cargo would be a way to go about finding something to pirate.
