Indeed, it may take two or three trips depending on your hold but you can solo wing missions and reap all the rewards for them.

My T9 has about 680t cargo so for a 1500t mission I'd be looking at x3 trips... the last of which only requires 140t, so I could use a smaller ship depending on if its ready / outfitted for it.

My current outfit for the Cutter are for trade and it has a 728T cargo space

Mmmh, if it is about the credits, I would not suggest either. With a Cutter and as a squadron leader, why not do a couple of wing trade missions. Besides, the Cutter is not the best choice for mining anyway, imo.

I have never flown a Cutter but for fast/productive mining ship needs to be nose to rock so ideally lasers need to be fairly convergent at that extreme close distance, ship has a shortish nose, and distance from nose to cargo hatch is fairly short . Other things for mapped mining: can ship defend itself - check has room for fighter bay, has sufficient utility slots - check, has weapons to defend itself - check, and are all the "working" module slots odd except for one class 4 slot for a refinery - almost only one odd match-up.

Cutter looks to have a long nose and might have convergence issues is all I see that might be against it for mining. For myself I would choose a Python for a medium pad and a T10 for a large pad but as no ship is ideal in all respects the Cutter looks fine too.

Lyonhaert posted about mapped mining a few pages back. For all things mining I tend to rely on Elite:Miners Wiki.

Anaconda can be a beast for mining, at least under the existing conditions. Might be a bit bulky for the new mining techniques coming up?

My big mining vessel-of-choice is the Corvette, but I prefer the medium ships most of the time since my preference is shorter trips and they're just more fun to fly.

SuperFixxxeR isn't wrong that it takes a lot of time, though. The guy who made the Bhare map can make 40 Mcr/hr off of it, but that's because he knows it very, very well. It would take somebody a fair amount of time up front to learn it before they can practice and improve up to that rate. And that rate still doesn't compare to Robigo or source-and-return.

Probably all the big ships would have trouble getting to the surface deposits revealed from cracking open a rock, especially if one has to manually scoop the chunks if collector limpets are crashing. Probably not quite as much trouble with surface, subsurface, or fissures, though. If you can't maneuver to tether to whatever deposit you want to shoot, you can just go the other way and time your shot when the target comes back around to you.

Yields are low enough from the deposits right now they aren't worth the bother for credits (just for fun). We'll see in this next beta update if they tweak any of that.

Sounds like somebody just got a player made bounty put on their head(s), hahaha!
Of course I really don't know anything about it at all, as I don't play on Xbox.

It sounded cool though, and would be a interesting idea to be able to add bounty amounts to pilots that shot you down without provocation. As an additional and modifyable field in the insurance rebuy screen, so you could write down the cmdrs' name and REALLY hold a grudge, hahaha!

Yeah it seems like a great idea on the surface, but who do you think is more likely to cash that bounty?

A PvP Bounty Hunter, or the criminal's mate?

Unfortunately this is why any decent C&P system can't be simple - too many loopholes and exploits need to be closed or mitigated.

Yea, it's an available thing in eve online, but it only pays out based on the value of the ship the person is flying, iirc.

Also the current system in E:D works just fine.
I was considering it as more like a way to put the cmdr's name down, so if you saw them again, you might be able to strike first (because revenge), haha.
But we really don't need that kind of mindset in mmo games, really do not need it.

Agree with Kari any sort of player interaction in relation to bounties is open to abuse... you'd have to build in all kinds of safeguards but players are not dumb and will find a way to abuse it.

The penalty needs to be against individual player... some sort of % increase on their rebuy or something, raise the stakes for them, make it a real stinger.

But in doing so, it still needs to be respected that playing a space-outlaw has always been a thing in the Elite franchise. Frontier don't appear to want to punish players for playing in a way that the game allows for, which is a good thing!

Instead, they've focused on consequences that can be mitigated or worked through with a little thought and planning. This is the way to go - it adds risk for the criminal without taking their gameplay away.
