SuperFixxxeRI never dabbled with it but from what I understand, it was broken, unintended, so Frontier have fixed it....

Oh it was a fully intentional mechanic - they said so several times after much wailing about it at CG ports etc. I'm guessing that they've got other ideas that need the UA/TS mechanics to move aside.

PAWadeI was playing a CG yesterday, accidently hit non warrant craft and received a 200 CR bounty
I immediately left the zone and went two an intergalactic factor, to pay find, when I got there
There was no fighting to pay, can I go back to the system and station without being destroyed?

Yes.

This seems to be as of the new crime and punishment system. You're "wanted" immediately and security will attack you, but if you escape, you may not have a "wanted" status anymore and can safely ock, or even return to the same RES.

Also, if you get a fine you can dock in the system - limited to "anonymous access" - and just pay the fine. Then all is forgiven. If you dock while "wanted" in the system and attempt to pay your fine, you will be transferred to the nearest detention facility, with your current ship, and have to pay your fines there to be released. You then have to travel from that system to wherever.

My favorite thing (/s) about the end of UA bombing is how many people have been asking for explanations of a thing that now can't be done. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also worth checking to see if you have any notoriety! Bounties won't show up then

I had the same thing happen, bumped by an incoming ship (I was moving, so of course it was my fault), fined 200cr. No Bounty. What's the difference between what happened with Commander PAWade and me?

I realize discussing Docking Computers was so yesterday, and I don't want to start another holy war.

I have Docking Computers. One is installed on my 720T Cutter Truck permanently. As someone mentioned, after jumping several systems, fighting or evading Pirates or Mission Targets, when I get to my destination I need a break. I request docking then get a drink, take a bio break, have a smoke or just yak with the wiff. I see nothing wrong with this. If you do, see my last sentence.

I also use Docking Computers on new ship types. When I got my first Anaconda, without the DC I would not have known to enter/exit the toaster in the upper third of the slot. To enter exactly center on the green side when I'm in a Cutter. Once I figure out where to enter & exit, I usually remove it, altho it's not a priority.

I eventually take them off my fighters; Anaconda, Cutter and smaller ships once I feel comfortable landing them, only because I prefer to use the slot for defensive modules. They're the first thing I sell when my storage gets filled up.

I think any commander should be able to use or not use DCs as they wish, without being ridiculed, harassed or attacked. However, Human Nature causes some to require everyone conform to THEIR way of thinking (thinking of the Solo / Private / Open Holy War). So there will always be commanders trying to force their opinions on others. I try to ignore them.

Best thing to do. Though it's amusing to see them get salty about it.

I did a short 1:00 video this evening just to show how quickly a CMDR can dock without a DC, even when approaching from behind a Coriolis.... and this isn't even the fastest you can achieve this... Not sure what the deal is with the sound clicking.

I'll let it lie now though... I was never trying to force anyone to not use the DC... I only disputed it was 'quicker' than manual...

So, to clarify the point I made about the DC saving time... Automating docking frees up my time to do other things that I would otherwise have to do before or after docking. It lets me take my attention off the game and hands off the HOTAS, pop into my browser, check for good routes to nearby systems, bio-break, grab a beer, etc. THAT is where the time savings of the DC comes in, not because it lands the ship faster than I can, but because it lands the ship while I do something else entirely. Another way to put it is it reduces my time on the pad or floating outside the station.

This is by no means a reason to use a DC, but it is a benefit of using one.

The salt one was pretty good. I forget what variety I sided with.

As you can see, bit tongue in cheek there.

Hello everybody! Tell me please, what is the best exploration ship for today in ED?

Bak-RogersHello everybody! Tell me please, what is the best exploration ship for today in ED?

Numerous come to mind. Asp Explorer naturally, bigger wallets use the Anaconda. Krait Phantom once it goes live might be something too I guess. Some love the DBX over everything etc.

All well engineered and with Guardian FSD Booster naturally, shouldn't leave the bubble without that

Ryan's spot on.

I adore the DBX personally. Has a really nice feel for jumping all over the place. Excellent view. Fuel tank is a bit small compare to the scoop you can equip. That just means opportunities for a break!
