You think you are getting revenge by blocking? Blocking breaks instancing so the more players you block the harder it is for you to instance with anyone. The ganker isnt missing out on not getting to gank you a second time. However, this is exactly the attitude I would expect from Ghost Legion, complain about gankers and do absolutely nothing about it.

First, Gankers know exactly how the block function works.  So, if they want to club baby seals and they are being "hunted" by experienced PvP players, they will simply block those players so they can continue to play ED the way THEY choose to.  And we know from other PvP'ers doing the research that is the case.  Gankers aren't interested in a fair fight, nor are they interested in real challenging PvP, if they were, they wouldn't be clubbing baby seals to begin with, but would instead be seeking out real challenges.

Your advice seems to be relegated to advising someone new to the game to go through the entire grind for engineering, at least a week or two of dedicated effort, grinding the credits for building a shipyard of PvP dedicated ships, building the dedicated skills for PvP, and then trying to hunt down a single or small group of players, months after the original gank to get revenge, just to find they can't instance with them anyway or that they have already gotten bored with seal clubbing and left for other games, or blocked the person because they realized they were being hunted.
Of course, your advice has nothing to do with the fact that you are a PvPer, right?  You just have their best interests at heart.

Second, the schoolyard taunts won't work on me, I am over the age of 12.  Good luck trying that with someone immature enough to actually rise to the bait.

Third, when you start receiving flak, you know you are over the target.  My advice stands, the best revenge is living well.  And in ED, that means playing the game the way you choose to play it, enjoying every minute of what is, IMO, one of the best values you get from any game, and not letting any other player spoil your enjoyment.

"You just have their best interests at heart." As far as I am concerned it is in everyone's best interest. Id much rather be fighting lawfuls with engineered ships than clubbing noobs.

i am so with this. It is Bullying (this is when you are ganked with no cargo and no weapons) - there is no fun. I got ganked early in my ED career and it kept me off the game for a couple of months. What annoyed me most is there is no real punishment for the GANKER. Also the ganked end up loosing more (in my case I was back to 10 grand and my side winder (which luckily I had A rated and stored) had it not been, then i probably would not be in this game now. What also leaves a bad taste in my mouth is the gloating afterwards. ( i know i can ban these players but I feel that this is counter intuitive to the game) so I play in solo as I gather resources and skills.

You are kind of missing the point of this game. I hear so many people complaining that gankers dont get punished for their actions, it is up to the player base to punish the gankers. If half the people I hear complaining actually learned how to fight and joined together against the outlaws the galaxy would be a much safer place. Saying "gankers bad" on reddit or on Inara or on the forums does nothing for anyone. Here go join the fight.

No you are missing the point - if I was pirated for my goods then that is fair, I was pirated for my goods and I decide too fight and loose then that is fine and good. But I f I have nothing to fight with or be stolen off there is no fun for the receiving player. It is you (the ganker/griefer) imposing your playstyle on players who are not in this game for that gameplay. I have other games for the violence inside me. Just being ganked or griefed because you can do it, is no justification for doing so. With all these new plyers since the weekend, the gankers are having a field day ruining new players experience which in turn is making some of them leave the game. This is not good for the game. The saddest thing about these gankers is that when the odds are against them they run. Basically gankers and griefers are the highest form of cowards.

"The saddest thing about these gankers is that when the odds are against them they run. Basically gankers and griefers are the highest form of cowards." I have yet to see a CMDR willing stick around and die when they get 4v1ed. If you cant stop someone from waking in this game then you dont deserve to kill them. Also about 95% of the PvP community falls into the category of ganker so who exactly are you calling a coward?

Aside from that, bad game mechanics have lead to the "ganking problem" if you want to call it that. Most traders and miners will just combat log instead of handing over 10t of cargo which has lead to almost every pirate giving up on piracy to become a ganker. The name of the game is killing the ship before it can log. Ironically clogging almost never saves noobs, the most clogs I get are from developed players flying corvettes condas and cutters. For example of the large ships I engaged 'legitimately' in the CZs during the last community goal, almost 90% of them choose to clog rather than die. Additionally there is almost no incentive for PvPers to play for the lawful side, as you can only collect 2 mil of a player bounty.

I could write a whole essay on this but in short your thinking on this topic has not gone much further than "gankers bad" and in reality it is a much deeper problem.

SakashiroNot trying to discourage you, but you will get tired of the procedural galaxy. Just a matter of time.

I concur. For me the breaking point was going to Semotus Beacon during the Great content drought. After covering some distance you start to feel the urge to get back... Especially with so many action and opportunities going nowadays in the bubble.

Get the free Epic account and have a Bubble and Explorer account... problem solved?

way ahead of you. I'm flying my cobra and bounty hunting my chops off

and I hope I'll not get too tired with only another 6% to get before I achieve my ranking. Then I may return and spank that Marco Qwent's ass for sure.

EpisparhFrontier gives free purple paintjobs on their twitch stream.

Never seen that many elite players at the same time, close to 11k on twitch.

They gave purple skin for ships, srv and purple color for engine / weapons - you could claim all of those by watching their 1 hour twitch program.

There is another planned for 2PM ET Thursday and they might give something else.

ArcBlade72Hey guys. I finished in the top 75% of the cargo delivery mission in the last Community Goal. I had already claimed my money before Fdev extended the rewarded FSD from top 25% to top 75%. I have not seen it, so I flew out to Spirit of Nysa, it isn't there. How do I get it?

It should show up anywhere under Outfitting | Stored Modules - if you don't see it maybe raise a ticket to fdev?

I found it. I was flying a Python with a 5a FSD and G5 Long Range and the new one shows as the same. It gives the bonus of the faster reboot as well but that doesn't show up as a mod. It already came in handy, I was running rescue missions in Antropos and a ganker came after me and rebooted my FSD, it took 2 seconds and I was able to jump.

Does engineering improve it further or does it end up nerfing the module?

You can add an experimental mod.

A little off topic, but looking for new pilots to recruit is an absolute *pain* when you can't find anyone. The only pilots I've run into both had squadrons, albeit too small to even create a Player Minor Faction.

Well I am looking to join a squadron but on PC! I guess it is more difficult on console platform.

I am trying to get a better understanding of the INARA Bulletin Board | Security Report and search didn't return anything.

Is this populated via the ED Market Connector (EDMC) I am running on my PC? Or does it also getting data from the INARA "plugin" I am running with EDMC?

What goes into the Actual Security Report "Threat Level"? For example, someone with EDMC client running destroys another player's ship? Do they just need to attack them or interdict?

What is a murder attempt in the context of that page? Someone shooting someone or someone getting shot?

On the Law Enforcers On Duty section what goes into the tiering and score? An implication is that the people whose ships were destroyed were criminals. How do I find/identify criminals?

I have been enjoying the PVP aspect of ED and it seems like this page has some good information.

_Nemix_I am trying to get a better understanding of the INARA Bulletin Board | Security Report and search didn't return anything.

It's populated from EDMC and similar tools if the users are using the Inara API there. Also, it's populated from the data imports made by Inara (you can set this up on your CMDR page). Doesn't matter who is running that, it can be either the offender or the victim. The threat level is a general level how much danger from other players may be there. Of course, the extreme threat doesn't necessarily mean it's an absolute hell and a low or no threat that nobody will shoot you there, but it hints the increased risks. The threat level is based on PvP kills (or more precisely murder attempts, as the commander is not killed, just his ship destroyed). The law enforcers are those who "killed" a criminal (a player with a bounty on his head) in the given period of time. The score is based on a Combat rank of that criminal and killing the innocents (no bounty) is penalized.

gotta love fdev, I must say.

last week best blackmarket price for LTD I found: 420k per ton. Today: 200k.
Sure the market is a little crazy right now, but if this is the best you will get from now on, pve piracy is officially dead.

thanks for nothing i guess
