last week best blackmarket price for LTD I found: 420k per ton. Today: 200k.
Sure the market is a little crazy right now, but if this is the best you will get from now on, pve piracy is officially dead.

On second thought, I am not sure if it works that way. Perhaps I will test it.

... At some point it was like that... You are selling commodities on the black market and they appear in the FC cargo as clean. Then you can proceed selling them to normal markets.

LTD is that low? Yikes. Did everything go down when Painite went down?

The max prices were limited PAI- 600k, LTD - 700k and VO-1.3 mil... But this effects not only piracy but mining too.

Last questions: On the Security Report below Recent Murder Attempts there is link to View Conflict Zones. What is the relationship of conflict zones to the recent murder attempts? The two systems currently listed with recent murder attempts don't appear to have conflict zones and I would expect the zones to be more about PVE.

Yep, the conflict zones are purely PvE thing (wars and civil wars) with no relation to murder attempts. I should probably place that button/link elsewhere. On a second look it seems to be a little bit confusing.

This is entirely going to depend on the availability of ships with other cargos to rob in good quantities.

With the increase to prices for Gold and other metals, they now become a viable choice compared to LTD.

Most ltds are found in batches of 20 ish in smaller ships atm. Rare are the big hauls.

If other sources are banging out big hauls of metals then they become a viable cash alternative.

Obviously not in the vast amounts that were about before, but the balance could potentially now be there.

20 ltd is approx 3 mill on the current market.

64 gold is approx 2 1/2 mill on the current market.

if the medium metals are easier to find, then a comparable price hits for effort..

so all is not lost atm, but you will have to get used to not grabbing the huge prices of earlier this year.

The only other "viable" choices would be the stuff you get from deepcore mining, but fdev decided that npc’s dont do that. So LTD are rly the only thing right now.

big hauls are not rare rly. If you know what youre doing you can fill your cargohold with LTD witihin 30min no problem. depends on your ship/loadout and system states ofc.

I dont expect things to be as in the distant past, when 200+mil per hour was easily possible - but as it looks right now this is just depressing. Fdev is just not balancing with pirates in mind/not caring about pirates, they never rly have so thats that.

This is an effect of "fixing - balancing" mining. Not sure how big is your hold but the thing is that you will get same amount for it as a miner will do.

Some people speculate that markets demand is reset with the daily tick and then goes down with the amount sold... So eventually if you play time cycle is few hours after markets reset the markets demand can be exhausted by then

Just go out and visit systems you haven't been to before. Then  cash in your data at any station. You can do quite a bit in the starter systems but you'll need to leave eventually if you really want to rank up. Not entirely sure how far you can get in the starter systems , don't be afraid to leave.

Get in an SRV, and drive.

It may take a while, but it is doable.
