Is there a reason when I honk on arriving in some systems it’ll report finding 15 bodies, which can then all be seen in the system map, but then others will tell me I’ve discovered 6 bodies, but on looking in the map, only 1 or 2 stars can be seen. I thought my scanner was supposed to uncover all bodies in the system and display in the system map?

If it is a system you have been to before, honking it will deliver you no new data other than signal sources. If it is a system with no bodies other then the stars you will not see anything. If it is a system you have not been to before, after honking you need to FSS it and gather the body data.

Sir SprockettI must be doing something wrong...

I went mining today. Set up the Cutter, for core mining for one of the new minerals.

Chose a system that had lots of astroid belts icy and rocky, flew in went up to a Ring and did a detailed discovery scan, nothing on this ring, went to next, scanned it yes, ALEXANDRITE hotspot. Brilliant. Super cruised in the area lit up by the scan about 1000 k from the target. I have an Abrasion Blaster and a Siesmic charge miner, with 2 mining lasers, collector limpet and Refinery and all the important Pulse wave analyser.

SO off i go, Plusing the analyser finding the high lighted rocks, popping a prospector limpet on it seeing whats there, 60 limpets later, in 3 totally different areas within the "hotspot" and 2 hours of flying through and astroid belt. For water and methonal crystal. Nothing else what so ever. No small amounts, no readings nothing of the Alexandrite hotspot. NOTHING not small amounts in any of the rocks I prospected.

I appreciate mining is not meant to be super quick or amazing supply of rocks, but to spend 2 hours getting nothing not 1 reading of the mineral.

Is something broken?

I would not mind if to fill my ship up (128 tones) over 2 hours, but not too even mine anything as there was nothing to mine, seems very broken?

Any suggestions?

The pulse wave analyzer is broken. It actually shows behind you now rather then in front of you. No one knows why. I did how ever think Alex was a laser mind product. I may be wrong.

Thanks for that, been away for a while and not encountered fss before, looks like I’ll have to do some rebinding on the controller!

Something I noticed in the last few days, but am not sure if I'm imagining it:

I'm currently still in the Mandh system, helping Artemis Corporation with keeping control of the system.

I'm playing in a private group. I noticed that since the end of the CG the number of NPC traffic going in and out of Miyasaka Orbital has dropped significantly. And during the event the NPC traffic seemed to somewhat mirror what players seemed to be piloting in open, with a lot of Cutters, T7s and T9s coming through.

Has anyone else noticed something similar in their PG or solo play?

It's shit. I mean, nerfing mining (for like the 3rd time) is great and all, but when core mechanics are broken, what do you expect the mining community to do?

Lakon rejected Core Dynamics bid so I think maybe the Alliance sees a coming combative struggle between the Federation and Empire and want to encourage peace by selling arms and ships to both sides...or perhaps it's because the Alliance would see a major chance to expand into areas they otherwise would be restricted when the Feds and Imps are paying attention. However, now the Alliance want's to start terraforming Ammonia worlds? Thargoid habitable worlds? I think that is going to encourage even more aggressive Thargoid encounters with humans...The Alliance may have their own war with the Thargoids and not expand as much as they would like to. Or perhaps they will drag all of humanity into a larger conflict with the Thargoids...either way I think some bad bad stuff is around the corner. Federal Congress as allocated more funds for military spending including building up GROUND FORCES. With space legs on the way...I think some serious large scale battles are in our future...Thargoid interactions on the ground are going to become more intense.....and I think we'll see more conflict zones on the planet surfaces themselves. War or not. Stuff is seriously building for something. I've started to see 3306 as a kind of tipping point year. I think whatever is to come will all come back to what happened in 3306....

Hm. Is the CG considering previous finds (which are listed on eddb) or new finds only?

Yes, any exploration data for AW counts. Spansh have Amonia plotter as well

Awesome tip...thanks!

with the recent balancing, new entries do not have to mine to get credits anymore.... works for me just fine.

37mil for a 10 mins courier run is just way profitable and fun instead shooting at rocks.

And some mission interdictor kills will sum up to 40mil easy.

With a fat bank account, i have more time for other entertainments now.

It is noticeable in all, you can see NPC traffic increases and drops for several reasons and I am sure the end of the CG would cause one.

Hi, I'm new to talking here. Something I really got interested into in Elite Dangerous is the combat. I have been using a Cobra MK III so far and it has served me well, but I am thinking I will need an upgrade eventually. My friend suggested to me a Diamondback Explorer as a good all-rounder ship, but I started comparing the base stats of the two ships and was concerned if this was the right choice. What would you guys suggest as a good upgrade from the Cobra? I currently have around 20 mil, so if I can buy something now that would be awesome, but I'm fine with having a long term goal.

Asp Explorer works for literally anything, just engineer it to suit your needs. I personally recommend an Alliance Challenger or an Alliance Chieftan if you're going for combat.

I think for now, I'll take your suggestion and grab the Asp Explorer. The Challenger and Chieftan look like decent later goals. Probably a Challenger. Thanks for your advice!
