GALNET - 07 DEC 3306 - Lakon Spaceways Discounts Selected Ships

Temporary price reductions have been announced for several Lakon vessels, in an effort to increase short-term profits.

Lakon Spaceways has applied a 30% discount on sales of the following ship types:

Asp Scout

Diamondback Scout

Keelback

Type-7 Transporter

Type-10 Defender

The reduced prices are expected to last until the 30th of December 3306.

Some industry analysts believe this is an attempt to increase short-term payouts for Lakon’s shareholders, many of whom have complained about falling dividends. Other investors have publicly pressured the company to accept a takeover bid from the Federal corporation Core Dynamics.

These issues were addressed by Naomi Landseer, chairperson of Lakon’s board of directors:

“It is true that profit margins are not as impressive as in previous years, but we can assure all stakeholders and customers that Lakon Spaceways remains financially secure. We project an upswing in military contracts during this turbulent time, and our achievements on behalf of the Alliance position us as one of the galaxy’s premiere shipbuilders.”

I don't know, I'd actually look forward to messing around with a T-10 if it was that cheap.

I'd still sell the one you have and buy one at a discount, because the reduced rebuy cost is permanent.

Obviously it is not the money that concerns me but the materials and the engineering that will go to waste.

EpisparhWait a minute! Is the current CG giving x3 exploration data next week if only current tier is reached? Xander do not participate but have 110 mil exploration data already.

It’s a little unclear, TBH. I dumped a batch of data on them today and got a sizable return, which I think was related to the tier level. However, I don’t believe it was a 3x payout. I’m not actually sure when the initiative is ending - in my mind it ends in the next couple of days, so I don’t see how the increased payouts tie in.

I’ll look into it again tomorrow. I’m not really concerned either way, myself: I’ve so far exceeded the DSS reward threshold, and money is not too tight. I’m wondering if the engineered DSS will be any better...
