Thanks everyone. I imported data to Inara & checked credit and activity and there’s nothing since 16th November (doesn’t show current rank or credits even after manual import). So, without a rebuy cost showing up, all I can think is that I flew back to a random dock in the bubble without remembering it, or the ship was placed there as the last station I was at before leaving.

Maybe I’ll drop FDev a line but apart from some carto data, there’s no loss. Just confusing really

You said you've done some exploration. Do you still have your exploration data?

There was a patch with the Epic Store opening... Maybe this is the effect.

I've logged out in all kinds of places: landed, SRV, orbital cruise, supercruise, next to stations... I never lost a ship that way.

No, that’s the one thing I’m missing. I was 82% on Pioneer so went out to nudge it over the elite rank. Judged if I got 10k out just honking and scanning undiscovered systems I would make it.
No big deal, I can head on out again.

One point of interest - Inara says I achieved ‘Pioneer’ rank on Saturday. This is a week out, I was awarded Pioneer while in the black. Needed 2% so took an SRV ride to get it. 400km I drove. 400! Pretty dull driving.

If I remember correctly, exploration rank is based on profits, not on distance traveled. You could probably earn Elite rank without even leaving the Bubble.

That is correct - a lot of ELW, TWW and HMW terraformable planets in the bubble - some systems can net you up to 4-5mil. And there is also passenger missions as Silver Taffer suggests. Although not all of them will do - you need to do sightseeing and only a portion of the mission pay out is counted.... Do not recall how much, might be half.

Yes, you should be. Perhaps, Claude glystra as well if he has EDSM profile. I left my ship parked around the delta site. Do not know if I will have time to look around before the jump to Zurara.

The carrier is Jumping from Alpha site.

You are kind of missing the point of this game. I hear so many people complaining that gankers dont get punished for their actions, it is up to the player base to punish the gankers. If half the people I hear complaining actually learned how to fight and joined together against the outlaws the galaxy would be a much safer place. Saying "gankers bad" on reddit or on Inara or on the forums does nothing for anyone. Here go join the fight.


IMO, if you want to engage in PvP because it is what you want to do and you enjoy it, then more power to you.  If you let someone else dictate how you play ED by their actions, you are only encouraging them to continue with the behavior you objected to in the first place.  The best response to a ganker is to block/ignore them because they are feeding on your response, whether that is to complain or take up a crusade against them.

Play the game YOU want to play, that is the best response to any other player and the best revenge for any ganker.

kinda defeats the point. I don't want to be in the bubble. The only reason I'd be back here is to cash in my carto chips and rank up. Out in the black I have peace, quiet and no need for the credit rat-race.

I'll just head back out and then in a week or so, I'll come back in and cash in - claim my elite badge and a couple of mill credits and head back out again. no big deal.

Tho I suppose while I'm here I could always drop in on that anti-social bugger Marco Qwent. He's still not returned my calls.

I concur. For me the breaking point was going to Semotus Beacon during the Great content drought. After covering some distance you start to feel the urge to get back... Especially with so many action and opportunities going nowadays in the bubble.
