RazoredgQuestion....on Inara on the engineers page what does it mean when some of the mods are blue text??
Thanks...
Those are their specializations, meaning they can upgrade that specific module all the way up to G5 (maximum).

I think those are the G5 (top rated) mods.
Makes it easier if you know who does the ones you want to plan which engineers to unlock.

GALNET - 01 DEC 3306 - Lakon Spaceways Rejects Core Dynamics Bid
A proposal by the Federal corporation Core Dynamics to purchase the construction company Lakon Spaceways has been officially rejected.
Naomi Landseer, chairperson of Lakon’s board of directors, made this statement:
“We thank Mr Rochester and his team for their approach. However, I can confirm that Lakon Spaceways will remain an independent company.”
Business reporter Irfan Karim analysed the situation more closely for The Alliance Tribune:
“This decision has surprised many analysts, considering the persistent rumours that Lakon is in far greater difficulty than financial statements would suggest. Although its shipbuilding partnership with the Alliance proved highly lucrative, insiders believe that the firm has overstretched itself in terms of resources and manpower.”
“There have also been public comments from high-profile shareholders in Lakon, who are pressuring the board to accept ownership by Core Dynamics. Some complain of falling dividends, while others accuse Ms Landseer of focusing exclusively on Alliance contracts.”
A spokesperson for Core Dynamics confirmed that the offer to purchase Lakon Spaceways has not yet been withdrawn, and that CEO Jupiter Rochester is looking at all available options.

"...all available options", huh? If my memory serves me right the last time someone rejected something a Federal Corporation wanted it resulted in the Birthright Wars.
Federation going to risk a war on two fronts with the Empire AND the Alliance?
Meanwhile, on today's Supercruise News stream: The Devs are apparently toying with the idea to punish player killers by adjusting their rebuy. The higher the bounty you have, the higher your rebuy costs once you get killed yourself...

Federal backed coup in the Alliance so the Federal Navy can get aerodynamic ship designs?

Eris Federal backed coup in the Alliance so the Federal Navy can get aerodynamic ship designs?
Why would they need to be aerodynamic in the vacuum of space?

Not that there hasn't already been some kind of 'atmospheric re-entry effects' coming in to land on planets & moons with supposedly no atmosphere, Odyssey is coming, although I can't recall if being able to walk around on their surfaces will be restricted to similarly atmosphere-less bodies.
So far, I haven't gotten any impression that the shape of the ship has any effect on the differences in their handling on the way down. I know there's been some conjecture somewhere...

The manual implies that the blue "re-entry" effect on glide is your FSD still carrying you in as it shuts off.

Also Core Dynamics produces Vette and Eagle, they hardly need a lesson on aerodynamics from the company that builds the T-Series The Dropship is literally made for planetary landings.
That said, I do think that the T-Series and the Chieftain + sister ships are the reason why Core Dynamics wants to acquire Lakon. Imo they want to expand into the freighter market with existing sucessful ship designs and into the AX-market by taking over the Chieftain etc from Lakon. Nothing more than an attempt to diversify.
And since high-profile shareholders are pushing for this merger, this could very well go the other way for Lakon real quick. Working for a concern can be a real thriller sometimes.
Undermining the strategic readiness of the Alliance by overtaking a critical supplier is, imho, only a secondary goal at best.

Rebecca HailThe "all available options" are much more likely a row of measures to enact economic pressure on Lakon than the Federation straight up declaring war on the Alliance over a failed merger. Doesn't surprise me that the imperial drama queen jumps straight to the most extreme reaction possible.

Like I said: The Fednecks are rather quick at applying military pressure when things don't go their way the first time. Achenar rejecting to join the Federation? SEND AN EXPEDITIONARY FLEET! Settlers don't want to sell their land to the corporations? BIRTHRIGHT WARS!
The trackrecord of the Federation with these kind of things isn't the best...

Claiming that the conflict between the Empire and the Federation was caused by Corporations is flat out false. The primary reason was the Empire refusing to join the Federation, the secondary reason was the Empire committing a genocide on a sentient alien population, something that is against the very core principles of the Federation. Somehow the Imps always seem to forget that when they talk about the big bad Federation wanting to oppress them into not committing a genocide.
The birthright wars were a redistribution and thus an internal conflict. It's not possible to draw an analogy to a war between interstellar superpowers (or rather in case of the Alliance, a major power) from this. The Empire has those internal conflicts too, the most recent ones notably being the purge of Emperors dawn, the purge against the Nova Imperium and the ongoing conflict against the NMLA.
Things aren't as easy as Empire good, Federation bad. Sorry to disappoint you.

I haven't said that. I said that the Feds response to the rejection of an offer is usually military action, be it on orders of the government (Achenar) or the corporations (Birthright Wars).
