CZ payouts are disappointing indeed. Bounty hunting is far more lucrative at this point.

Nkizo BaxterTo be honest, everything now seems to be balanced when it comes to credit earning, in a way it should be from the very beginning of the game. Bounty Hunting and Assassinations are no longer lagging way behind mining which sometimes could give 100x times more than hour in High or even Hazardous RES. Aside of Tritium, you are no longer forced to mine or do extensive trading in order to afford weekly expenses on a Fleet Carrier. At least from my "on paper" point of view.

CZ gives payouts of what used to be RES patrolling rewards on a rather mediocre day, which isn't that bad, but I find it a bit weird that payouts for CZ aren't higher considering that NPC ships present in there are way more powerful and in numbers that might overwhelm your top-shielded ship in a minute - but I guess it is a balance counter as very same ships are on your side, too.

Yeah, I agree with you on the balancing.

I think my future path is going to be focused on exploration, which suits me. Going to spend the next couple of weeks playing with a couple of hulls, tuning for optimum Explorer builds, then head out for a year or so. The Canonn challenge is calling.

Personally I think that combat should always have been the jobs that paid much more than the rest of the jobs for a couple of reasons;

1/ You're more likely to lose your ship compared to most other jobs so it'd go towards your rebuys.

2/ (Without restarting the whole ganker or open v solo debates) If most people are flying around in combat ready ships instead of unarmed mining ships they'd stand a better chance against attacks in open.

Bare in mind that I still believe that everyone should be free to play the way they want... I'm just talking about how, if the silly money had been in combat instead of mining, it would've encouraged pilots to be battle ready and not sitting ducks. This coming from someone who isn't particularly combat minded themselves.

Making combat most profitable activity simply do not make sense. Mining and trading should be more profitable but not like it was x100 (in case mining vs combat), x3-5 is more reasonable.

BH is PvE activity thus making it almost same risk as mining in unarmed ship. I do not see how flying a ship equipped for BH will make a big difference if a wing of PvP ships jump on you while you happily farm NPCs in a RES.

Mining high demand mineral commodities should always be the most profitable activity.

Sort of reminds me of... like you know... RL.

I'm out in Colonia and Tritium is basically unavailable in in quantity! Found a couple of single hotspots and started mining but I'm getting about 100T an hour with 5-10% rocks at medium or low quantities. Did I mention that I hate mining? There are Fleet Carriers here that are selling it for 100000+/Ton, but that is just piracy. I'm basically stuck here until I get enough to get back to the bubble. FDev this game is broken with your ham handed nerfs! Thanks for making a fantasy game like real life.

It is your fault to expect large quantities of tritium in a remote regions with economy under development.

What's next - expecting cheap tritium in Beagle Point?

In RL, I'm always quite reticent over making long trips to areas of which I'm unfamiliar without knowing the number & location of the fuel stations.

Are you laser mining Tritium??

While doing VO and LTD, I usually find 1/3 or 1/2 of load of tritium, when I feel getting it, and the best way to get it out of rock is Sub-Surface missile.

As for mining, I think that devs should keep as planned, make core mining more profitable then laser mining, but amount of demand they create should be fixed, since FC allow for huge dumps of ore... So market is constantly struggling, giving some profit for 1-2 hours and then taking recession low values... In that case, some folks have more chance to sell their loads thanks to time zones.

I heard that double hot spot for core mining does not do much..., but I saw someone get 630 / hour of Painite in hirez site.

I feel your pain. I know what its like, and how frustrating it can be, when elements of a game seem to be stacked against you, but surely one of the best features of ED is its adherence to the way life actually works. True, the fantasy elements are what makes the game special, but the reality is what makes it believable.

See i agree with both sides of this argument, however, i don't think it's fair i can safely become a billionaire in my private group and then go pvp or gank stuff in open with a big fat wallet i made safely. I believe the two wallets should be different. The whole risk versus reward thing should definitely be implemented in a balanced way. Which way that is i don't know exactly but rest assured if you can count on one company to deliver is frontier.

ABOUT PATCHES, Yes, patches are... well.. patchy. But they listen to us, and they have the biggest content holding game on the market today. How many of us have actually explored everything here? its impossible almost, there are Easter eggs that we haven't got to that are there since 3300 yet we have not unlock such content. we have to explore we have to share data we have to share interesting points and specially we have to spread in all directions on the galactic plane. we have to jump our carriers exam every system, find that content. The patch, I personally already preordered and i can't wait bugs and all for the following #1 my first atmospheric entry and the effects on the cockpit and my first foot expedition in a whole new set of worlds that are about to open for us. I have actually begun to surface scan certain systems of interest to me that have some of the moons and planets ill be able to walk on hopefully..like thin atmosphere non landable moons curently

So wait a minute...do you guys need a freighter carriers to take trit over there? I will totally embark on that if there is a profit to be made ( not exaggerated but enough to cover the trip.ALSO NOTE THAT within 500ly of colonia there has to be a gas giant with icy ring...i have noticed that without hotspots at all, icebelts contain decent ammounts of trit.

well do we or do we not play this for the realism???... right?.....i agree with you because i am a pvper/miner who secretly and remotely mines his money off the ice and rocks and spends the time back in bubble shooting things. I ONLY play open play and when you guys are in open with no guns mining in crowded systems with flimsy no weapon cutters and condas i take my hat off to you sirs and ladies, you got some sacks. you deserve better reward than for me killing you for example..because pvper truly has better chance of survival than mining ship and is not like these upper end mining vessels are so cheap, specially when you have lots of upgrades. See FOR EXAMPLE, if  get dropped by a wing of 2 kraits + 1 cutter on my pvp corvette, even thou they can mass lock me i can kill a krait or two and manage to still highwake out, on my minnin conda I CANT do that.

I got almost stuck in the SIFOAE sector, close the the line with, elysian shore, still in the orion spur, and my carrier reserves i had like3000 trit left. i got worried was gonna heve to backtrack until i decided to drop on a no-hotspot icy ring on a class 3 gass giant and i had to laser mine about a good 8-12 hours of laser mostly and a bit of not so abundant but consecutive enough subs and surface deposits that i had it back to 20k units in 2 days. SO for the tritium issue guys. JUST FIND THE ICE, trust me on this..IS NOT, "makeprofit tritium" It's is more like,"keep you going tritium". do keep in mind I fly a FULL SERVICE/CARGO carrier, not one selling equipment...just market and black market with all services. so once i fill the cargo with trit

Yeah I agree... The argument 'combat ships experience more risk therefore should be paid more' is wrong on every level.

Combat ships are built for.... combat.  They can at least survive any encounter long enough to get away unless the player makes mistake(s).  Ships built for ANYTHING else cannot.  Therefore combat is not more risky despite getting to see your shields light up occasionally.

As for risk = reward:  tell that to current day RL soldiers and mercenaries.  They are NOT making bank and their job is hella more risky considering they don't get shields etc...

Nah, I'm happy with how it sits atm.  The balance feels much better than it used to.
