Elite: Game talk

ArtieI just add - logging out in the rings can be risky, because the game may spawn a boulder on top of your ship at the next session start (which may be a reason of your insurence claim). So when leaving the game it the rings, it's safer the fly further away from it. Leaving the ship unattended in the rings without logging out may also have some risk (depends on the place), as the boulders are rotating and may collide with your ship or some NPC pirates may appear.

I logged out many times in ring, and every time game would move me on top of ring, just like when you jump into instance. I never had any issues being close to some objects or even robbed by pirates, but that is mostly because I mine outside of Bubble.

Last trip had to quit game multiple times during single mining trip... as I've already have said - no issues at all.

Wilddoktor... You're not seeing the latest builds / ships because Epic Games hasn't been connecting with INARA for about a week now....

Epic and Steam must be bount to Frontier account. Naturally, you can link directly your Frontier account even if it associated with 3rd party provider.

In addition you may also consider running a lightweight windows program called Elite Dangerous market connector to seed data to all 3rd party sites like inara, eddb, EDSM, etc. https://github.com/EDCD/EDMarketConnector/releases/tag/Release/4.1.5

SmarinatorJust rejoined Elite after years of being away. Im fairly well set up worth over a billion.

2 Questions:

A: How do you make the most money in the game atm
B: Is there any active groups I can join

Thanks!

Welcome back!

Money making is in flux at the moment, and depends a lot on how you play.

Mining can still make you money, but has been heavily nerfed. Musgravite is (500-600k sell if you're lucky) probably one of the more lucrative ones at the moment, but the best material & place & quantity to sell at is always changing.

Trading can make decent money (find Argonomic Treatment to buy at 4-5k and sell at ~30k).

I like flying with a group. We often do wing pirate massacre missions, and money is good if you do it right (everyone collect massacre missions against the same factions from multiple different factions; share amongst the wing). The missions are good money (25-38 million), and the bounties are way higher than they used to be. I usually pick up another 10+ million there. Sharing as a wing is the real key to making money there.

Combat in general has received a boost. If you like Thargoid hunting, they quadrupled the payouts there. A Cyclops is now 8 million, a Basilisk is now 24 million, etc.

There were some stupidly profitable delivery missions in Refinery systems for a brief while (25-37 million for delivering 120-180 tons Palladium to the next system over, or similar), but I think they've been nerfed too. Still profitable, but not like it was.

The key to a lot of these is to gain enough rep with local factions that you get the missions, and get them at the right payout.

There are definitely active groups out there, you just need to figure out what you're looking for. And since you asked, *ahem* The Silverbacks are always looking for laid-back people. We have pilots across the globe, at all different skill levels, and with different interests. We're not the biggest group out there, and we're certainly not the smallest. We do a regular weekly Thargoid hunt, and there's other stuff that happens on a semi-regular basis.

Now that's something new. I didn't know there is a possibility that a rock spawning "in the place the rock shouldn't be" MIGHT actually destroy your ship.

EpisparhWhen you logout - your ship disappear from the game.
Only Fleet Carriers are persistent, but they cannot be destroyed, cannot be robbed or cannot get harmed in anyway you can imagine.

Oh, wow; that's great news! That's going to make my feeble attempts at mining much more enjoyable. Thanks!

(Meaning: I only have about an hour and a half IRL to "play" every other night or so; and finding a station to dock at before logging out, then jumping to a mining system when I log in, only gives me about 20-30 minutes to actually look for core asteroids. And since it's still taking me 20 minutes to find my first one when I jump into a ring (yeah; I'm not very good yet!), my "mining" time has been really short. Being able to just log out and back in right within near the ring is going to be awesome!)

Careful though. When you return to the game in a ring, or re-enter a ring, the game usually spawns NPC ships. They are usually pirates, and will scan you. If you have valuable cargo on board, they will attack you until you give it to them. For this reason, I prefer to NOT interrupt mining sessions, and why I HATE when the game crashes while I'm mining.

But, otherwise, it is perfectly safe to log out of the game without docking your ship.

Same. It's always a few km outside the ring, around the mass-lock point. Similarly, if you log out in the vicinity of a station or get an Orange Sidewinder upon leaving a station, you return about 8-10 KM outside the station you were leaving when you log back in.

Interesting, maybe it was overly fixed, but I've seen a similar report about a player being destroyed in a ring due this problem relatively recently, thus the warning. Always better be sure than having an insurance claim.

Does anyone know of or own a carrier that goes back and forth from HIP 58832?

TL;DR
Look for salvage icon next to threat level 6 NHSS. You are looking into correct NHSS but only salvage icon guarantees lone Interceptor.  Else it is random Interceptor or one Interceptor with lower level + scouts.

Igneel PrimeAh no worries then. I don't care too much about that tbh as long as my credits show up right. over 400mil with combat today. stonks

And here I am, happy if I make five mil in a day! SMH

oh my what are you doing? 3-5mil a day was old HazRes values pre buff. If you're making that now you're probably in the wrong place

Thanks for all the help. Spud_ came to the rescue and brought me back to the bubble. I would have taken the long way home if necessary but that is more hours than I have at the moment. When I just park somewhere in the system away from everyone I usually end up with my ship blown up by some random NPC. LOL live and learn.
