EpisparhDo you speak about NPCs or fully engineered player ships?

You were comparing the Vette's agility to a Python, and that makes sense only if the Vette is engineered and the Python is not. Unengineered Pythons are hard to find except as NPCs, and those are easy to tail even with FA On and no pips to ENG. A quick look at EDSY explains why. Clippers can change direction much faster, which is why I was considering a Clipper as my follow-up ship for gank evasion.

As far as engineered player ships are concerned, I've had quite a few gankers on my tail, and although they were more nimble than Vettes, they didn't get much time on target with fixed weapons either. If small ships were easy to hit, there would be no point in using them. Turrets may miss a shieldless stealth Sidey most of the time, but that's OK because a few lucky hits suffice to take it out, and the likelihood of those occurring increases with the duration of the fight.

The flaw of the Vette IMHO wasn't the turrets but the shields. They were wearing down surprisingly fast from that class 1 beam + rail.

Pit - 36.4 vs 42.8
Roll - 109 vs 145
Yaw - 11.7 vs 16.1

I spent a lot of time with both ships and I am really telling you that Vette is the best turning ship of the big 3. And for me it feels almost as python... Excluding speed and drifting.

Even if a sidewinder have enchaced performance thrusters it will have trouble staying at vette six. (BTW I have such sidewinder and know it's capabilities)

... And about the shields of the potato vette I do not know. Perhaps not engineered or badly engineered. With bi-weave with good resistances class one weapons cannot even make a dent on it.

> All the others are like whales.

If you think Vette is flying like a whale you just don't know what are you talking about.

>If small ships were easy to hit, there would be no point in using them.

There no point in using small ships except for fun. You need to be cripple to lose to sidewinder even with the garbage loadout like turrets. It's not so hard to stay on target and hit almost any ship in Corvette. Even small ones. Of course you can be outmaneuvered and bullied by some FDL, but it's entirely different story.

thank you all for your suggestions, comments and build recommendations.

I still want to build my gimballed death star. I do not care if is useless - cause that is not the point of this game for me. Too me there is more fun in making a shit ship work than quite frankly being a Meta Sheep in ships that work. More fun more challenging and hilarious when the shit ship wins...

I agree. I've got a fleet of Keelbacks kitted out for different BGS roles because I love that ship (I've got a 'vette and a couple of T7s because sometimes you're against the clock with BGS). Some people get hung up on the numbers... I'm happy to make the game harder for myself so long as I get to do it in something I enjoy flying.

Tengri UmaiIf you think Vette is flying like a whale you just don't know what are you talking about.

This is what I'm talking about:

Or this:

Note how the pilot keeps his small ship above, below, or behind the Corvette pretty much all the time. Note how all the Corvette's forward facing weapons fail to get him into their line of fire. Guess which weapon on the Corvette is the only one managing to hit the small ship? It's the garbage turret!

So that's what I'm talking about. Now I'd like to know what you're talking about, but you're keeping your fleet details hidden. Maybe you did manage to build a nimble Corvette without turrets, but I'm not going to take your word for it.

Yup. Numbers don't matter. You can even take your type 6 for a spin in a haz-res with moderate success.

Sakashiro, do you want to demonstrate me how you will stay out of fire arks of my Resolution with your Snow Blood?

... It's a PvE build. I will not deploy my elite NPC SLF pilot.

... Or you will keep pulling potato Vettes from internet and use them as argument?

On the off chance Saka actually puts her squeaky toy where her mouth is please record it.

I do not record stuff but she will for sure. And I am not even half decent pilot

I do not need any video, but I am also interested in the results (because the videos supplied here were simply not representative as some Corvettes were either focusing on another target or not trying to fight back). I consider Corvette as a quite nimble ship for its size from the PvE player experience (I have never tried it in PvP and have no interest to do so) and I am curious about the "real world" results when compared to the human opponent. I think this is the best way how to settle the dispute - making the direct tests in the game and presenting the results, doesn't matter the outcome and doesn't matter who will do it, as far as the test will be objective and representative.

Anyone know any anarchy system visited by researcher/surveyor mega ship?
I knew 2-3 but apparently the controlling factions were changed.

Yeah, go for it. See if you can find Cmdr. Red House in his 'vette. .....All things being uneven, oops.

Let's do this!

BurstarOn the off chance Saka actually puts her squeaky toy where her mouth is please record it.

Dude, I've been cruising Deciat in my squeaky toy in open for weeks, and I wasn't exactly quiet about it. Everyone knew where to find me. Where were you?

so it seems to me that asking for an opinion on a ship build, has led to a couple of commanders having a duel.  Love this universe.

good luck both sides...
