The best place for BH is Pirate Activity threat 6 in Sirius System - lots of deadly Condas there, lots of millions too.

I'm probably just not "good" enough but my kill rate at the threat-5 was so much lower than (say) the Haz RES that even the higher bounties weren't making up for it.
How much bounty (on-screen at least) are you getting from a Conda at the threat-6 location?

Yeah, I went to threat 6 to check that theory ... Ships there are far better equipped... SCBs, chaffs, blue lasers... I had to shoot them longer had to reboot my ship 3-4 times to recover shields and they pay almost the same as in Haz RES. Result I finished with 1/2 of my normal gain in Haz RES.
Maybe this is better for wings of 3+ but not for single CMDR.

If I get my 750 merits on say Wednesday (2 days before my 4 weeks are up), will I be able to get the power play module on Friday? Sadly, I suspect that I will have to wait 6 more days for the next tick.
Yes, you will be able to buy PP module.
Do the merits before the tick of the 4th week and once you make 4 weeks you will be pledged for 4 weeks and had the required level 3.

It is about 180-270,000 for Conda kill. This is the same amount as in HazRes, but in HazRes Condas are very scarce. I have to look long after them. There are also plenty of 150-240,000 Fer-de-Lances in this Pirate Activity threat. Of course, multiply these credits by 4 to get the real reward as shown in transaction panel.

Yeah I know the bounty is similar to HazRes, but I got tired of destroying AspXs and Fed Assault Ships. I'm doing it alone in prismatic Vette, this place is not for single bi-weave of course, which is better for HazRes in my opinion. Btw, there are no ships in wings in Pirate Activity Threat - this is another advantage to HazRes. Wanna wing up?

EpisparhOh, I see you are after prismatic shields. Just buy a lot of them. Even the class 1 are useful for speed builds.
Yeah, I got pack hounds as my first PP module and the timing seemed more straightforward for that one based on the calendar. I got 6 of them, which seemed like enough. Sounds like good advice, I will get a bunch of shields because I definitely don't want to do any of these more than once.
edit: wow, just looked them up, I see they come in classes 1 through 8. Easy-peasy: I just get one of each!

I bought 38 pcs. of them (various classes) - for every ship in the game. I know I won't use them all - some builds are better with standard or bi-weave shields - but I want to have them in my storage

I am bit bored from BHing.. And I really do not have to do it more. I am sitting well in the middle of top 10% with 150 mil.

Thanatos au Grimmus38!??!! I'm trying to save up for my first FC and won't be able to ever buy one if I buy 38 of those shields.
Only large sizes are expensive and you do not need more than 3-4 of them.
But you will need at least 1 bil spent on Prismatic shields. They are good for shield/cell bank tanks, haulers/miners, on some exploration and speed builds.
