SakashiroI put reactive armor on my Mamba, with grade 5 thermal and layered plating, because that gives it a balanced 16/16/17 percent resistance against kinetic, thermal, and explosive damage. On the other hand, I have no HRPs, only MRPs. The reasoning behind it was this: I need at least some hull boost to deal with phasing sequence weapons that bypass shields, and I need increased module integrity to deal with reverb cascade weapons that damage the shield generator even while shields are up.

During the bounty hunting CG the MRPs never came to use. Reverb torps are rare, even in PvP. So I might be better off by replacing the MRPs with SCBs. The reactive armor however I will keep, because phasing weapons aren't rare at all, even some NPCs use them. Besides, unlike HRPs, armor has its own module slot and doesn't occupy any of the optional ones.


On medium and small shields reactive or military makes sense. Although the former is more reasonable for for PvP build while latter is usual choice for PvE. And yes, Mamba and FDL are better with SCB than HRP especially in PvE builds because NPCs do not cencel banking.

2, the assumption being that the paint jobs on offer are the same, with the two goals offering different types of Commanders ways to pursue the goal.

That certainly makes sense. That being the case, I will probably focus on making top 10% in just one of them.

Since the bounty hunting CG is basically a repeat of the previous one, I'll probably do just enough to get into the top 100% or maybe top 75% for the cash reward this time. In the hauling CG I'll try to stay in the top 10% again, and also get trade Elite before the CG is over. But the main incentive is the money. Each haul brings me a little closer to a fleet carrier.

Btw, does anyone know how to read the values in the right column?



This is from a single unengineered 4A shield cell bank. Does this mean I have to pop 4 cells to restore 625 MJ of my shield, or what is the 4x all about? The SCB's max ammo is only 3 anyway, so I'm kind of puzzled.

If we are talking about pure PvE Vette there no point in reactive surface armour or any other armour really. It's a shield bank tank. Your shields never goes down in PvE if it's engineered and you will have enough armour to mitigate rare phasing lasers. Most folks never even do such PvE content. Plus it will make your Vette slower. Epi was right. Dunno why all this aggro.

Also you can check Vette build on PvE wiki. It's better since you almost don't need all this distro heavy beam lasers. So most of your pips will be in sys and engine boosting your survivability and movement speed/agility of ship.

My lasers are thermal vent which allow me to use SCBs without the need for any heatsinks. I’ve got plenty of power and all the speed and maneuverability I need for any PvE scenario that I’ve encountered thus far.

Yes, right column is SCB reinforcement + total SCB regen with resistances. The last value - the RGN is shield regain time from 50% to 100% with empty SYS capacitor.

About x4 SCB uses - you have ammo maximum + 1 already loaded and ready in use. Same as heat sinks and in matter of fact everything that have ammo. The clip in use is loaded and you carry maximum reloads.

Total = maximum + clip size

I know, I know. The point is - less pips in weapons the better. You don't need heatsinks in wiki build too, but nvm, mate. If it's works for you use it. I was using same build half a year, but then just switched to meta with MCs and it feels better in every aspect for me. Fly dangerously o7

Okay so I have a question about community goals in general. I'm currently the top of the 10% on the inara list and I haven't the foggiest clue about where the bottom of the top 10 is. Is anyone in here on the top 10 or able to say anything in particular about it?

For BH:

This changes in real time.


Buddy I'm the one who moved trading to 70,813 for bottom of top 10.  

What I'm asking is if anyone knows anything about whether the top of the "top 10" on inara indicates a person confirmed to be top 10 or any specific place? As far as I know it just means that that's the highest tonnage moved by an inara user.

It might be either way. The values are your ranking , your contribution and total contributions.   Since you have a close value but not in top 10 the value is adjusted as the last update from top 10s might be hours ago.  

You can ask Artie how this is calculated/implemented - he is the guy who have the access to the code that generate the guesstimates.

Held first place in BH for first couple days. There is a lag time between when you turn bounties in, and Inara updating both your contribution value and the contribution ranking values. If Inara says you're in Top 10, you're in the top ten but as of the last update not realtime. Only the mission section of the station has that in realtime.
