ArtieJust a note: Anything that wasn't directly game related was simply removed. Such disputes are not worth keeping and moving to another thread (I will remove a few posts further back yet, once I finish reading). Thank you for the understanding.
Sorry Artie, didn't mean to do that to you. Last time i bring up my ship preferences, promise. Because it happens every time and i really did intend on just talking about fun ships

I am drawn to overcharged for the extra punch, with possibly corrosive experimental. Your comments are appreciated.
Thanks.

I think that the ENGLISH language is open to misinterpretation, especially when righting it down write can prove hard (I am a native Briton). All of us hear on the Forum should be less sensitive to the use of the written word.
Otoha's statement on the Hauler was fine by me and I was not concerned or bothered by the use of the word Best - i might have said something had the CMDR been passing this to a new Commander but in general we should be careful - this is a really enjoyable forum with very interesting Commanders and their opinions/onions.
Thanks Artie for removing the 3 pages of pedantises

HoughtkjHello all, I am looking for engineering advice for a couple of Pacifier frag cannons to go on my Chieftain. PVE only and mainly for assassination missions.

well I like drag munitions as they are also good at keeping your prey in your sights.

Bursar: I have 4 fixed beams for shield removal
I’ m not familiar with drag munitions- what is the effect?

it slows your opponent down, strip shields and a dose of Drag munitions and the prey becomes sluggish (correct me if i am wrong - chat)

SakashiroJust low-waked out of a threat level 6 mission target with 89% hull. One FDL, two Vultures, blue lasers. Probably would have ended with a rebuy if I had stayed. Maybe solo-ing wing missions is not a good idea after all...
Was that a wing assassination mission? Usually the FDL is the mission target - kill it and get out. But if it is a wing mission you might need some serious shield banking and canceling target's banking attempt.

They greatly reduce the boost effect of the targets engines iirc. I wouldn't bother considering you're in a Chieftain and your maneuverability is already very high so getting your sights on target shouldn't be a problem. However, fixed beams and projectile weapons is an interesting combination. You won't be able to fire both at the target simultaneously unless very close. If you think you can pull it off o7 I'll just suggest you have one Pacifier corrosive to apply the effect, and the other simply oversized for the added dps. For primary engineering I'd go Doubleshot for the DPS. You won't run out of ammo before the assassination is over but you will need to RTB for reloads more often.

That sounds okay for a fast target, but solo assassinations tend to be Anacondas or Corvettes. Would you stick with overcharged?

Wing assassinations are pretty tough - those Vultures hit hard. What ship were you in?

for DPS yes
I run a Frag cannon with drag munitions on Mrs Malaprop (type 10) so that I can get my guns easier onto target. Even in a fast ship drag munitions would help "tame your prey"
