Reasonable. You don't need a team to do jumping-scooping-scanning, and any other person involved will probably slow everyone eventually. I guess that one must have a special state of mind to enjoy this activity (activity?).
I enjoy it & on both accounts. I don't enjoy there being precious little else to do & the very occasional mining is a sweet welcome break.
But, the worst thing about it is, the feeling of being trapped... having to hope that eventually, 1 or the other carrier will be returning somewhere close enough to home that it doesn't cost me an arm & a leg to transport the rest of my ships & modules back.
Perhaps I can find a carrier to transport everything to, hitch a ride back & then, make sure that I can coordinate my schedule if & when that carrier is anywhere reasonably close to home.
Ofc, the whole issue would be solved if I were to decide to get my own carrier... & frankly, I sincerely doubt that'll ever happen. Owning a carrier is, IMO, letting the game play me. I'd be obligated to log in & maintain it & then, it would be a chore. Not what I signed up for.
Sounds like you have an exploration vessel with you. Why not just take the plunge, and jump back.
With the credits you make for doing so, you could easily ship your existing fleet back, or buy a new one until the old returns.
If you set yourself a target of 1000ly a day, you could be back in 24 days....
With a little extra effort, you could easily half that.
Got to be better than just sitting there...
