I kid, but that egg might as well be like the one from the book/movie.

MeowersRisca YinQuestion: I've been laser mining and I show up at a gas giant I had visited earlier but no rings showing the hot spots. I tried probing again did not help. Can I do anything to get locations back?
Try running discovery scanner in the system, might work. Or fly close to the rings, they may show up after this.
p.s. I had a same problem, but it was a month ago, can't recall now which of this two ways helped.
Thanks for the tips but they did not work for me. And I got so close to the asteroids I crashed into them sort of. Weird you take damage but still have to fly to get to the rocks.

Are you in Analysis mode? If you're in combat mode that data disappears. The only other possibility I can think of (that you ruled out) is you no longer have a Detailed Surface Scanner.

Bah. Sorry it wasn't helpful. Maybe I really forgot something.
Btw, you took damage from abrupt supercruise termination - this happens in front of stellar bodies where you can't land, rings, when you do an emergency stop, or interdictions, or shutting down FSD while supercruising, etc.

SakashiroI just watched that video, too. How the f... do people find these things?
I guess someone found it randomly and then used nearby POI to find it again.

Perfect. You enjoy 'pulling one over on Fdev'? Here you go. Enjoy. The rest of us can play the actual game without worrying about 'falling behind' so to speak.

I personally prefer some level of randomness while performing such mundane tasks as mining. This is the reason I like sub-surface and core mining ... but then after those "fixes" it does not pay for the effort.

MeowersEpisparhat 304mil per ton
Whaaaaaaaat?!..
Unfortunately, the max price you can set on FC is 1000% of galactic average. And it looks like there are plenty of people ready to pay 304k per ton than go in random Bromellite hotspot and get what they need in 15 min.
I may go on that triple overlap and get some more. Yesterday's session in single hotspot was 90-100 min for 506t bromellite + 12 tons tritium.

Episparh304k per ton
Well, 304k per ton sounds more realistic. :p
And I'm from that kind of people. I have neither proper mining ship, nor willing to build one. Let alone flying around with a scanner, searching for these hotspots. So it's fair to pay someone who mined it, giving me a free time to do something that I like more and raise credits to buy something that I need.
You can do anything (well, almost) in this game, but it doesn't mean that you have to. :p

Sir Sprockettchanging the Subject slightly
I bought a pre-order of Odyssey over Christmas - my reasoning was at the time that the game had already given me my monies worth in E:D Horizons and that i wanted to be in on the action from the start.
Now I hear about not buying into pre-orders and that they are a bit of a scam - looking at Star Citizen, which I have not bought into and it looks likely I will not for the foreseeable future - was I a bit of a Noob buying into Odyssey?
Yes, pre-order is pointless. I usually buy close to release ... as I did yesterday with EDO.

I walk a different path. I prefer to know how to do anything and have assets in place for it. It pays over time because I constantly have this change of heart towards different activities not to mention the excitement when you find an actual opportunity from time to time.
