Rufus P. BrayJust docked at Laplace Ring, Kongga, with my Krait to bring Mrs. Jameson some special brew booze (named Kongga ale). She wants exactly 25 units and this station has.... you guessed it, exactly 24 units. Will I have to make the whole trip again or can I wait for Laplace Ring to refill supplies?
Rare goods don't restock as long as you have some in your cargo. Two trips needed. Or find a fleet carrier.

If i hadn't ever tried the Hauler I'd disagree. I have strong opinions about the Fer-de-Lance, none good. This is the first ship by them I've actually bothered with. My dedicated explorer was a DBX sitting mothballed for 4 years. But with an almost 60ly range, the Hauler bubble jumps like nothing else i have, and now its replacing even my orca for everything but running passengers or cargo (both activities i mostly avoid anyways)

OtohaSpeaking of fun, you know what is a blast? Completely exploration rigged Hauler. I made one on a goofy whim, new favorite ship in the whole game. I can't fight with it, so my dropship is still the best combat ship ever. But this hauler is awesome. The more i use it the more i find it more useful than my dbx or orca was for certain things i do often, like mat farming , bgs data missions, bubble jumping, etc
I totally agree, and they are so cheap I have a few that are geared to specific tasks. The hauler is effortless to get in and out of stations and landing, especially on planets is so easy. And for one way trips (e.g. Jameson crash site), you just blow yourself up and save time on the return trip. I spend more time in a hauler than any other ship, except maybe the K2.

Or if you have a friend to wing up with they can get the other units and you can transfer them to your bay outside the station. As long as you are joined as a wing the cargo remains legit. If not it will show as ‘stolen’ and, much as Ms Jameson loves her ale, she won’t touch dodgy gear

It really is underrated. People so often limit true exploration ships/builds to the asp, Diamondback, and Anaconda. But in so many ways the Hauler is better than each in its own way. Sure you tolerate some things with it, but for its price and size there is no better bubble jumper

The only ship that is worst than Hauler for exploration is the sidewinder. https://edastro.com/exploration/#shiplist (read the score criteria and sort the table by score)
This ship is worth only in 2 cases:
- Early r2r ship. (just out of n00b district)
- Cheap taxi which you transfer for almost no CR and go to fly your actual ship.
... Being a meme is another option, but that's another thing.

read it less than a minute ago, removed post... but tbh, i think sidey should beat gunship just because of how massively cheap it is.
