Synthya WylderI am SO never going on an expedition again!

Haha, I was keeping note of your location... I would be bored in the first week... But then this was the time I needed to go to Semotus Beacon and get back to the bubble. Your best option back is Sag A* and hope for FC departuring soon to bubble or Colonia (you can use suicidewinder express from Colonia)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the suicidewinder trick simply place me back at the last landing pad I used, be that either a station, post or carrier? Doing that, I'd also lose any carto & Codex rewards.

I'd also like to avoid having to transport 4-5 ships with a total value of >1.6 bil credits, not counting a few stored modules, all the way back to whatever base I call home, currently (it looks like) >28K lightyears. I forgot the rough transport calculated cost guesstimate... I don't think it would be cheap, regardless.

Hitching a ride back on a carrier wouldn't be a solution either, for the aforementioned reasons.

My other option would be finding another game to play until the Alpha Odyssey is available in (supposedly) 11 days & making do with that on my primary (this) character. Sappho will simply have to go into stasis.

Any way I look at it, it was a bad decision, a huge mistake in fact... but this has been my 1st expedition, so I suppose I can be forgiven for not knowing. Now, I do. If anyone asks me in the future, it's not something I recommend.

"Fool me 1nce, shame on you. Fool me 2wice, shame on me."

I won't go into details in public as to why I've come to this viewpoint, but happy to do it via private.

Good things sometimes come in small packages. I will definitely be doing both CGs, just have to decide between Beauty (iCutter) or the Beast (T-9, well, more like a cow).

On a more entertaining note: Of all 9 stations bombed only one is still burning needing evac... guess which one?

If your guess was the one in Sol: correct! Seems like the Fednecks are not even able to rescue their own inside their very home system...

I planned to get to Colonia then have my new, unmodded type 10 flown out to meet me...... gave up on than when I saw the cost, 85million. so I bought a python instead. Last time I was destroyed (far too recently) the options were 1. my python in the nearest station, or 2. a sidewinder somewhere i didn't recognise.

Let me explain how it works.
1. You fly your ship to a station where you can buy a cheap ship.
2. After changing your ship to a cheap disposable ship. ideally sidewinder, you do get killed by shenanigans or self destruct.
3. YOU DO NOT REBUY the cheap junk but use loaned option. It will spawn you in a loaned sidewinder in the station of your career start which is in the bubble.
Note: your ship will be left in the remote system until transferred or used again.

AKA the fastest way to get back from Colonia without your ship.

Thanks, Epi, I didn't know that as I've never done it.

That solves very little for me currently.

I think I'll continue with my plan.

SakashiroI keep my heat down by never assigning more than two pips to weapons. That way the distributor will drain before the heat begins to damage the ship.

Yep, think that’s part of yr problem. Good strategy against normal shields / small craft, but as Meowers says, against decent shields, you need to give it more punch. Heat shouldn’t be too much of a problem for short periods of time keeping bank mid charge. It will make a huge difference to yr time on target.

Every additional pip to WEP has to be taken away from SYS or ENG, making me more vulnerable and less maneuverable. I don't see how that's going to help me when multiple opponents are chasing and firing at me. Four pips to WEP in a wing fight is a desperation move, it's the Hail Mary approach to combat. I don't need a rebuy to see when a fight is lost.

I think that depends on what ship you are in. If you are in a well engineered A rated Large ship , you probably have plenty of shields and hull tankiness not to worry much about being hit in a wing fight for quite a while. And maneuverability is not your USP anyway, but you may well have 4 pips to weapons as with all those hard points it allows you to rip ships apart very quickly without needing to engage them for long in a dog fight. And you don't really want to dog fight for long in a Large ship.

Type-10 was available in Colonia while The Nameless/Loren's Reapers controlled Carcosa. Unfortunately, Civitas Dei did not liked that and took it.

But then 80 mil are just few hours of pew pew in Haz RES or less than hour mining in a hotspot.

I agree with this.  Also, Saka when you're fighting multiple opponents and taking hits anyways how much are those pips to engines really helping you?  At a certain point dps'ing your opponents down ASAP actually prevents more damage than dancing around in front of the firing squad.  Food for thought.

I may be passing on the alliance CG unless it ends up at an insane tier. The T-6, which I don't own, can be had for about 1M credits. That's about a minute of mining on the Epi-meter.

One note. Type-6 is awesome basic hauler and it is good even as explorer... And it comes at 0cr.

But they are giving them away for easy. Top 75% in cargo delivering? Cake compared to the ridiculous BH effort it took to get Top Ten for the Clipper or FAS.
