OtohaI asked because I've noticed that when i get interdicted by most players, i always submit and i end up in the instance VERY early by comparison. I can get down, deploy hardpoints, turn FA off and be flipped around and waiting for up to 10 seconds before my attacker finally arrives.

I say this because i have the Series X, and I'm wondering if what I'm seeing here is the significant difference in load times between myself and commanders not yet lucky enough to procure one. I do not remember it taking nearly that long for the attacker to instance before

I don't think load times are it. There is very little new to load when two ships get pulled into an instance together. Pretty much the paintjob of your opponent would be it. More likely it could be network particulars of those involved affecting this, which, would make sense of how everyone experiences this so differently.

You may very well be right. But for example. My wife is using my old Xbox One S (slightly faster load times than a standard Xbox One), she plays too and if we both hit the button to load in to the same place at the same time, I'm loaded in 3 seconds maximum, she's loaded in about 45-60 seconds later.

I know PC players stay on the cutting edge of tech, so SSDs are old hat. But they're brand new to the Xbox realm, and i feel like that's the difference I'm feeling. I'm probably wrong, but with this games multiplayer coding, i thought it a valid point if i am loading instances so much faster it's affecting the interdiction process. If I'm correct and this is able to be manipulated, gankers on a series x have a legit advantage

FDev's netcode, particularly the peer to peer instancing has long been complained about. I think it boils down to whomever the game chooses to be 'the host of the fight. How this is determined I don't know for certain. It could be that your X is closer to the router, or that the game determines your X is fractionally better (due to the what should be inconsequential load speed) than her S and declares you the Host. Whatever the reason, being Host grants you all kinds of theoretical network advantages. Her system would always be waiting on yours to make the decisions, and your system would be the final authority on what happens.

This is what I think is happening: The SSD is granting 2 almost similar (I'm assuming. I don't know the particulars of the Xbone) systems the slight edge it needs to be given the role of Host. At that point p2p netcode takes this slight, but consistent, edge to the X and converts into the significant edge of being Host, and this is what you're seeing.

We're talking the differences between an HDD and an SSD. Not insignificant, we're talking the difference between 1 minute load times vs 1 second load times

No, for loading a fight instance we're talking more like a 1 second load time vs 0.2 second. Edit: there's almost nothing to load. Everything proximal to the fight has already been loaded while in supercruise with the exception of your opponents ship. The frame probably already has been loaded in so it's just the paintjob.

will we see odyssey content in the storyline? not during the alpha phase of course, but maybe a month after the official release wew could see some sort CG's requiring idk, some sort of plants that you found on a useless planet.

Some time ago I stacked up 4 pirate massacre systems. I found that when I killed one pirate it counted for all 4 missions. I assumed that was the norm.

A couple of weeks ago I was passenger running from the Elli system. I noticed that there was loads of big really high paying pirate missions all the same to go to Umbrigua and kill the Umbigua Blue Pirates. Typically about 30 million to kill 40 or so pirates and you got a whole week to complete the mission. So I stacked up 17 such missions that were worth about 1/2 Billion credits (better than mining I thought).

When I got to the resource extraction site I was dismayed to find that each 1 kill counted towards only 2 or 3 of the missions. Well I stuck at it and completed 14 of the missions and abandoned the last 3. I did get most of the 1/2 billion and bounties on top and it moved me a lot closer to being ranked Dangerous. So all in all it was well worth while.

I would though really like to know how this game mechanic works. Why do the kills sometimes count for several mission whilst at other times they only count for 2?

I have been noticing this recently myself. I had stacked three wing pirate massacre missions (81 ships, 45 ships, 5 ships) and set out. The 81 ships mission and 45 ships missions stacked and I was getting credit for kills on both of those but the 5 ships mission was getting 0 every time. I didn't try more than three but noticed the same. For sure for me it was two stacked would count and not the third. Maybe 2 is the limit.

has not all the recent Pirate killing CGs done it for many thousands of pirate and that the Bubble is getting low?

I think massacre missions stack only if they're targeting the same faction but are given by different factions, i.e. missions given by the same faction do not stack. But I might be wrong.

CZ wartime massacre missions surely don't stack. You may have two missions from faction A against faction B, but kills are counted towards progress of the first of the missions taken.

actually I think you are correct!

Single best way to tank a faction's influence? Is there one?

Accept all their missions and let them expire, if I remember correctly.
