BritarnyaI was actually thinking of putting them both on an Imperial Eagle for combat loadout. I was curious, is there was a way to simulate or visualize the stats the double engineered modules on EDSY or Corliolis?
Yes, you can just manually edit the properties in both Coriolis and EDSY. If one blueprint gives 10% extra of something (say power) and the second gives 5%, you multiply the nominal power by 1.155 (i.e. 1.05*1.1). Same for mass/thermal load/etc. You might have to guess the right option for some attributes...

Another pretty crappy day today.
Lost 2 cutters along with cargo and bounties due to glitches - losing all control of ship. All told over 60 mill credits down the drain.
Either client or internet glitching. Whatever is going on only seems to effect E:D. The rest of my internet traffic is slow but okay.

I'm not bothered about the ships as such, but the game is becoming unplayable. I recorded the last rebuy. If you have the time I'd appreciate your expert eye. Can you tell what is causing the problem - is it software (I've verified my steam local files), is it purely connection to internet (I'm getting steady Down 14.9Mb/s, Up 1.14Mb/s.) or maybe hardware? I'm running on PC (Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB RAM, GeForce RTX 2070)

Thought about rotation correction, but there was no COVAS notification about it

Always put 4 pips to SYS and 2 to ENG when docking. That will give you plenty of time to switch to camera mode (Ctrl-Alt-Space) and see where you are stuck. If you can't get unstuck, log out and in again. This will likely put you back into a safe position, probably outside the station.

The only times I experience stutter like that in ED is when Windows 10 does maintenance or installs updates in the background. Some system services cause 100% disk load during these times, and ED doesn't handle that well.

If that happen again try few times the landing gear. Not sure what caused the flickering but you got stuck on the lamp in back left corner of the pad.

MeowersMaybe smth messed up your Rotation Correction binding? Looks much as turning it off while being inside a station.

When I'm trying to line up a station on thrusters now, it quite often just carries on drifting straight past. I thought it was rotation or FA-off being active secretly, so I've taken to manually toggling these on and off each time I make a manoeuvre but it doesn't seem to make a difference. If the glitch comes, I just crash. Nothing I can seem to do about it.

First time I exploded I just careered into the far wall of the spaceport and couldn't turn around

ha ha - says the lady that won't even change pips to kill her targets.

Yes I should have done that - I did go to the exit screen to do just that and then thought I'd try a ship reboot instead - why? I really don't know. It was not the best solution.

Landing gear - why didn't I think of that?

There's still something no right about the flying and steering when it glitches as I lose control. I have now called in my Cobra Mk 3 which is slightly easier on the pocket and I shall rack up the rebuys.

If I can't play the game, then yeah I'll get in touch but I'm not about to ask them to reimburse me for a couple of measly cutters.

Try measuring your packet loss on the way to server. Overall speed might be ok, but its calculations based on big chunks of data. Controlling a ship requires more stability and low latency than sheer "speed over a long period".

I suppose using a docking computer is out of the question?

I'm not so sure about it being a network issue. Those freezes look like a resources issue or bad load. I would check your hardware. That behaviour where the screen freezes but the game continues to the point you clip through things leads me to suspect your videocard. Check it's heat a fan may have gone or it needs a cleaning. If the vidcard seems fine, check your system resource usage. Is anything running in the background? Is your memory used up causing huge swapfile usage? Restart the computer. If all else looks fine or doesn't help, and it still keeps happening, force a file install recheck I believe via the game launcher options prior to game loading (if I'm wrong I'll edit this comment after I find it).

Let's not go overboard on this. That's a bit drastic.

GPU-Z reports running well; GPU use at 38 - 60%, Temp around 60 degrees and 2 fans running around 30%
burstar If the vidcard seems fine, check your system resource usage. Is anything running in the background? Is your memory used up causing huge swapfile usage?

I tried stopping everything I could see. Memory is sitting constant at around 28% but true - disk usage is fluctuating between 20% and 100% during play. All excess disk usage is elite dangerous read files. MsMpEng.exe. Man there's hundreds of them.
burstarRestart the computer. If all else looks fine or doesn't help, and it still keeps happening, force a file install recheck I believe via the game launcher options prior to game loading (if I'm wrong I'll edit this comment after I find it).

I have restarted pc and downloaded latest Nvidia drivers and revalidated local games files and cache via Steam. I even thought it might be my hotas playing up, so I restarted, unplugged and reseated them in different USB-3 port. I have turned graphics settings down to 'LOW' and windowed 800x600 but still same problem.

Maybe a fresh install?

Tx for your help everyone.

According to online search MsMpEng.exe is related to Windows Defender.  It's possible you have a virus.

edit: alternatively, it may be a conflict between Defender and another AV program you use. If that is the case Microsoft has guidance.

Cheers - I just ran Win Defender and it found nothing dodgy. Looking it up, it is the anti malware app Windows runs to look for crap on yr system. It seems to think E:D is malware crap - yeah, I often feel the same, but I wouldn't want to remove it from my pc.

and no, I wouldn't use any other AV program, bloody snake oil salesmen.

Enough time on this now, fly and enjoy, CMDRs. Thanks for your help. If I can't get it fixed with a fresh install, I'll get in touch with fDev. - it did start on a Thursday afternoon just after their weekly update. What have they put in the code this week?
19 Mar 2021, 11:36pm
The possibility of a virus can't be ruled out, but it wouldn't be my first thought with these symptoms.

But AV scans do cause high load on the disk drive and sometimes also CPU. If you had two virus scanners installed, like Burstar mentioned, I'd directly point at it. Do you have E:D installed on a SSD or conventional HDD?

You could try to disable your virus scanner (Windows Defender) during the time you play E:D and enable it afterwards again. Perhaps, it can also be configured to stop all scanning activity when a game is running. It's highly unlikely to catch a virus through the game.
