Elite: Game talk

Hi guys. Just wanted to drop a quick update on my glitch situation after you were all so helpful.

Situation still occurs but is much better now Frontier Support are involved. The game is pretty playable again, though I have to rest the FDL because there is no way I can use fixed weapons any more. Core mining is also out for similar reasons but I can still investigate shit and do some trade (with autodock).

For combat, I’ve been playing with the all laser turret T-10 and while afk is not a long-term solution, I’ve managed to keep the massa-stack to around the 100 mill a day. Mind it takes ages to prep and then sitting there doing little more than popping out collector limpets when needed is not my idea of combat.

Still more fixes to try so I’ll let you know how they go and cheers for the good advice. Good luck to those of you who purchased the Odyssey Alpha.

CMDR.Cephalosim usually NOT allowed to speak as I am extremely rude and antisocial...but when it comes to manipulating the BGS...look no further...Cephy is the one. It starts with Choice of faction, and its success depends on what missions, when and where you pick them. For massive credits you dont want to do BGS manipulation until you are Elite combat rank. Only then is it any good to work it. i usually use two schemes, the Focus one scheme and triangle scheme...in the focus one scheme, you want 7-8 agents to focus a single faction from a neighboring system, this takes a fuckton of time since you have to be very picky about which mission you take, if any mission is interfering with what you are trying to do in the slightests of ways then that mission is a big NO NO for you. The triangle approach is easier to set up because it involves attacking more than one faction....the focused approach pays a bit better as there is less traveling to do .
Expansion happens while or after boom. Remeber that mission boards get updated every 15 minutes, if there isnt a mission that is aligned with your goal at the time, then wait a bit and look again. Forget killing their wanted enemies by yourself...instead do it thru the missions (double pay bounty+mission) i manipulate any system i want by running only 2 types of missions stacked with each other when possible, assassinations/takedowns (both solo and wing versions) and massacre missions ( both solo and wing types) with these two types of missions not only do you get the dankest money in game(yes bigger than mining) but you also put to practice flying skills otherwise you wouldn't use while staring at a rock. When you first get to a system you want to play in, you will find sometimes they are fighting one another...you must become the keeper of peace, work to stop conflicts within system first then work towards boom then expansion, expand all the faction of one system into the neighboring systems, preferably one that has a controlling pirate faction. IF a neighboring system has a controlling pirate faction... everyone in your home system if you try to expand them towards the pirates the mission stacking will get real and you will make about 300-400mill per hour of pewpew (provided you stack your missions properly).

If making money is your reason for doing BGS, you're probably not doing it right.

Rickchap yes I am looking now and see a few carriers that have them. Do people really go to others carriers to get items? ...or do you have to know them? Anyway I think I can look for mission reward to get them.

I have modular terminals on my fleet carrier. Problem is it's 800 ly away from the Bubble right now. Will be back at Monday. So you can wait, get it from other carrier (information can be outdated tho) or from missions. If I recall correctly passenger missions is a good way.

thank you friends and commanders! I am very thankful for the help but was able to find Modular Terminals through passenger missions on Robigo. It took 2 runs but Marco finally invited me into his Lab. I can finally move on to my thrusters.

Thanks Commanders o7

NAJ3HEREAt what point did credits become meaningless?, for me it was the ability to buy a fleet carrier without worrying about costs. It was around 10 billion...

My main ship is a Keelback and I only do things I enjoy... I realised money was meaningless to me when I hit around 30 mil.

Well you know me i like explosions, explosions may at times get expensive when you get outnumbered and you are the fireworks or rather the life of the party, so credits for me are essential, besides when you run torps and missiles you will understand...reloading torps is like buying a viper, missiles just about same( thats just reloading to go back out to hunt)...when a fight ends, a repair bill can go to 1 or 2 mill..so you can see how millions dont cut it for me..billions do. what you consider normal money in your wallet is what i spend weekly on owning a 500ly ranged warehouse. I believe however that if combat IS NOT your thing, then yeah credits are really not much an issue once you hit 30-50 mill because with that you can do everything there is to do besides combat...and maybe some combat too.

lol@u

"with these two types of missions not only do you get the dankest money in game(YES BIGGER THAN MINING)" or anything else for that matter IMO, i manipulate the BGS to mess with whatever it is you guys try to do, remeber am the guy that is against all of you. when i bookmark someone's carrier, that person's BGS manipulation turns into hell because i start countering. See you yourself have put yourself on the crosshair now, so you yourself will experience such nuisance.

The cephy now retreats from conversation.

@Kaizimm...if you need a good loadout for a corvette i can help you, because that thing you have in storage is a mess ;-) (heard the story of pandora? ancient greek mythos)

There is no point to a conversation with Cephy. A certain analogy about a pigeon and a chessboard comes to mind.

SakashiroED Odyssey requires 60 GB disk space according to FDev. That's three times the amount required by Horizons!

Does that mean Odyssey will be three times as fun as Horizons?

It's gonna be three times as f***ed as Horizons? I think as long as the different activities are engaging it should be good.

My goal was to get one of each ship, so once I got them all and outfitted them like I wanted... I want to say about 5 billion in total but I wasn't really keeping track.

Usual take on "mine is bigger than yours" by the look of it.

Never mind - only a few more hours before we get to see the offering that is Odyssey alpha first-hand, and tell the ones who didn't buy access in one way or another all about it

I look forward to reading what people say about it. Sadly I can't give it a go, as even on low settings it looks like Odyssey will kick my computer in its mechanical ass.

Ha! I bought the Alpha... then the specs came out! My poor little laptop may not be up to that 60Gb download, nor keep up with the GPU speed... the fans already whir like mad! Oh well... I'll see it as donating to a good cause... FDev!

Yeah this game already stresses mine as it is. No big deal I guess. It wouldn't be the first time that my computer wasn't a bad enough dude to rock DLC.
