Visited 1st few Guardian sites today

After unlocking the data terminal on an early visit to one of the ruins a fleet of skimmers caused me to retreat the SRV to my ship...
It seems you can take off, shoot down skimmers with the mother ship, land again and return to material collection.
At the next site I improved strategy so didn’t need to do this again, but it was fun.

Have unlocked just the Grade 1 Gauss Cannon so far and took it for a ride on my Krait MKII to a conflict zone (low) for testing.
Like the range, and destruction power, but noticed it is quite slow to charge/fire.

It looks like a swap of modules to fixed weapons will be needed to practice on before visiting the Thargoids.

Guardian weapons are hot garbage vs human technology. They are meant for fighting Thargoids.
If you like guardian gauss cannon, try rail gun.

it took me quite a long time and quit using a fighter pilot and it went faster

On the forums people are currently a bit... lets call it "annoyed" by CM Zak. Turned out that the 3rd LP had a typo in it. But instead of disclosing this in the discussion thread on the official forums he revealed it on Canonn's Discord... There was quite a delay before it was relayed to the forums by another player instead of a CM!

I was aware they are really intended for Thargoids, just curious to see what it did.
Yes, that is a good idea, now have G5 access to rail guns and will give them a try.

OK, if the rumor I just heard turns out to be true (emphasis on "rumor") this might turn into a bit of a scandal... apparently the first 10 pilots who reached the Hesperus got a nice 100m credit bonus, which because of where Zak disclosed the typo are now all Canonn members.

I used to use Ray Gateway in Diaguandri. I seem to remember it being one of the better ones. Don't know if it still is or not.

Rumor turned out to be true... the first ten pilots to deliver the log data to a certain place get/got a 100m credit bonus

Word of advise: Bring a cargo rack! The regular mission reward is either 2m credits or 10 units of void opals...

Yes, the mission update message by "Salvation" says this. The rest gets 2m or 10t void opals. (As you just stated.)
And they should indeed rename the "official" forums. It seems Frontier staff is posting everywhere, Twitter, a players group discord and what not, but not at all on their own forum.
