Give a man a stick and sooner or later he will turn it into a weapon. And having turned it into a weapon he will start looking for an enemy. Humanity...

I do like the shiny gold. It would make for a nice accent on white or black ships imo

So for the HRPs the debate is higher Thermal resistance bringing all close to middle, vs. higher total resistances and absolute armour with a lower thermal resistance.

As I said from my experience, it is better to have balanced resistances than specialized one. Or you simply expect enemies to stop firing their thermal weapons when shields drop?

I'm wondering if it would be better to optimize the hull for thermal resistance only. Because as long as the shield is up, hull damage occurs only from phasing sequence weapons, and those are mostly thermal. Kinetic phasing sequence damage can only come from engineered PAs which I've never seen on NPCs.

I did a test, threat 6 wing-kill missions, opponent Python or FDL + 2 or 3 Vultures
Ship Mamba - hull Military Grade Composite + heavy duty G4 alternately Mirrored Surface Composite without engineers. I did a few tasks and didn’t notice much difference. Hull healt 70 - 88%. An engineer could change the situation in favor of a mirror.

That would be the Fednecks with their pay up or we let you starve, die of dehydration or run out of air.

At least our slaves are kept honourably and fed and sheltered until they pay off their debts.

Hey, at least you can properly identify the Empire Eagle on that decal... the Fedneck version though... is that supposed to be a crosshair?

No, it's not pointy enough

OtohaIt's direction where little else is offered, and a significant credit opportunity for a brand new player. It's no surprise many, if not most new players gravitate to them to get started. I'm not saying some blasphemous thing here. I'm not going to start defending another opinion of mine to the pious crowd again. We know where that'll lead and i don't want to do that to artie again. ED just broke it's record for players online in a month, game pass did that. I'm just trying to help that, sue me

There's a permanent CG for new players in the game. It's called the Pilots' Federation District, and it keeps new players busy for at least a week while trying not to overwhelm them.

Sounds like "hey, look, our turd is more shiny than theirs".

p.s. Spamming friend requests isn't the best way to make friends. It makes you look weird.

At least a week? One can try all the activities there and raise at least one rank in a matter of one-two evenings.

Your observation is correct. I was wrong about phasing sequence damage; it's actually absolute, so more or less thermal resistance won't make a difference.

I recently threw out the reactive surface armor and replaced it with heavy duty military grade. I also threw out all the HRPs (I can see Epi roll his eyes right now. ) and replaced them with Guardian SRPs, because when I played that threat level 6 wing mission, I ran out of shield long before I came even close to running out of hull. So for me at least it makes sense to make the shields as strong as possible. I don't have prismatics yet, but the SRPs (2x class 2 + 1x class 3) achieve almost the same effect. The downside is that their power priorities can't be configured; they're always on, so they're effectively always in priority group 1, even though the shield generator isn't.

Saka, with SRP you cannot recover your shields to 50% with ship reboot. But besides that, SRPs are the way to go for bank/shield tanks. Just be sure to GTFO before shield drops.

That's the plan. The Courier taught me to always keep an eye on shield status. Once the final ring turns purple, I'm out.
