In this week's CG, I'd rather support Winter's goal over Hudson's, but Hudson's reward looks much better. A first world dilemma.
29 Apr 2021, 1:17pm
Well, Hudson will win for sure.
29 Apr 2021, 1:22pm
Ahh, now I see, so it will not be possible to earn both modules. Only the winning side gives out a module to top 75%. Yeah, you are right, Hudson will crush Winters in this CG.

Hudson usually does. He is just ruthless enough to know what to say or offer to get people to do what he wants. Winters is right, but in politics being right doesn't mean much and she doesn't have much else going for her side, sadly.

MeowersIt's too easy and fruitful to play the opportunist or a bootlicker. Game mechanics actually drives people to do this.

p.s. It's really hard to counterweight the player-supported superpower-affiliated factions while playing alone. Numbers matter. How much of benefits I won for independents in CZ wars now taken back? Perhaps all of them.

Not sure if this was directed at my statement, but I'll reply anyway.

A thing isn't beautiful because it lasts. Its beauty comes from the fact that it existed at all.

Battles are won and lost and things change, but that doesn't diminish the effort if it means something to those fighting for it.

As George Orwell said in Homage to Catalonia,  “There are occasions when it pays better to fight and be beaten than not to fight at all.”

Yep. I'll agree with philosophical context of this, this is no doubt right. Sometimes it's about how much of yourself you put in those efforts. How much you're at that "inner place where you do belong to" when doing something.

FYI: last week's CG reward, the Guardian Gauss Cannon, is now available

Any ideas about Trinkets of Hidden fortune? I have some but they didn't spawn any mission

Does anyone know for certain if this week's CG modules are victory limited? The answer does not appear clear in the FDev forums.

I'm dealing with this right now. My small coalition is fighting a bigger force, and we're outnumbered 15 to 1 by my estimations. We've been using guerilla attacks, and this helps maintain control over our systems since we're concentrated, but wars seem to be based purely on raw contributions. I pretty much treat this like a player driven storyline, a way to give some weight to the various missions and bounty hunting other than the credit/influence/reputation rewards.

Yup. A way to go. Gives your imagination a boost and makes all the stuff interesting. Like... What could be interesting in 500 lookalike CZ fights? But if one adds some details about factions, locations, reasons, etc., it could be a little story too.

p.s. Reputation system is strange nevertheless. I was destroying their ships by thousands, month by month, and... a pair days of trading goods between two stations made me a good girl again.

Having a reason to fight makes the difference. Otherwise, you're just a glorified gardener.

Well, there's different people with different reasons. It might be some rank-w*nk as well. They call it a reason.
