SniperGhost104As much as I hate fighting for the empire, the NMLA killed hundreds of thousands of federal, alliance, and imperial citizens in a terrorist bombing. Can't say I'm surprised they haven't received much support, they've made it real easy to line them up in your gunsights.

This is Guy_on_standby from your local radio talk, and I agree that they are not going to get much support, theta-7 is going to have a hard time with his main backer from the Mudhrid system is definitely going to be out of the fight.

SakashiroI recently did some location scouting in my 40 Ly Courier. For the story I'm writing I needed a system with an Earth-like and a water world with human-suitable gravity, not too far away from the Bubble. Praea Euq HO-O b34-2 fit the bill.

I’ve got an earth like that I discovered way back in 2015 when I was a complete noob somewhere within a couple thousand light years of the bubble. I believe it’s west-south-west (it’s in the general direction of Orion, but more west and not quite as far below the galactic plane. I’ll have to find it again somewhere, I think I bookmarked it.

I’ve also got an earth like out in the Formidine Rift, it’s the planet I stopped at in the rift back in November when I did that long ass trip in my carrier.

Edit: Synuefe AJ-E b30-1, planet B 2. It's about 184kls away from the drop point, and it looks like someone already mapped it.

Meanwhile the superpowers are absolutely spotless and have never murdered innocent people by the millions in the pursuit of their own agendas...

Pot, meet kettle.

Why are hotspots absolute crap right now?

I'm mining a Benitoite hotspot for three hours with not 1 ton to show for it!

OMG!!!

It’s truly irritating to waste hours jumping from one system to another in pursuit of Modular Terminals only to arrive and the place they are supposed to be is empty of everything. Is there something I’m missing somewhere? Why doesn’t a single station not sell them?

Why don't you obtain them by doing a mission? It do not take much time to find one especially in station where you have good rep with all factions.

Exactly my experience when I started mining. Single hotspots mean nothing. You have to find places where two or more of those hotspots overlap.

I do not believe Modular Terminals are a commodity that Stations produce. AFAIK the only way to obtain them in game is to earn them as mission rewards or purchase them from a player's fleet carrier, but there may be a pirating option as well not sure.

Did they changed something? When I did Selene Jean's 500 ton grind a pair of months ago, single hotspots were reasonably profitable.

Nothing changed - got 500+t bromelite in a single hotspot few weeks ago. Perhaps is the way the CMDR try to obtain benetoite - it is mined only from features most notably cores.

With core mining, hotspots (overlapping or no) only affect the probability the core will contain that mineral. They do not increase the frequency or payout of cores. This has not changed no.

SakashiroWhy is there still no NMLA decal we can put on our ships?

What about a Marlinist Decal? The real good guys, not the terrorists that killed dozen or hundred of thousands people and disrupted a Summit in the moment the Marlinists were given many political and social gains?

Don't worship Terrorists. Support the refugees.

Which ones are you talking about? Because the way I see it there are currently three Marlinist factions:

1) The original Marlinists, led by Fairfax

This bunch seems to be quite content having their own (republic) colonies now, and are even trying to normalize their relationship with the Empire.

2) The Neo-Marlinists, led by Whyte

This bunch still want to overthrow the Duval Dynasty and return to the Empire one day, but doing so peacefully. Unfortunatly they (especially Whyte) keep spitting anti-Imperial rhetoric, undermining Fairfax' efforts to keep the colonies safe as it makes them look like NMLA sympathizers (which some of them most certainly are)

3) The NMLA, led by Theta Seven

These guys started out as a group that tried to remove the Duval Dynasty by force, but by now they step on everybody's toes because at this point they are just sadistic assholes? (Yes I know, they say they fight everyone because they see them as enablers for the Duvals, but who's seriously buying that at this point?)

If I said "good" ones, I mean the guys who are trying the diplomatic solution. I think my text is quite straightforward. If "Marlinism" is a term too complicated, I don't care. I just said, don't be a fan of Terrorists.

If all "Marlinists" are fanatic-to-violence people, in this case I'm talking about the refugees -- "Marlinist" or not -- men, women and children who just want to live in peace, the very kind of anonymous people that suffer most regardless any moment in history.

Furthermore, overlapping hotspots only really have bearing on laser mining and since benitoite cannot be laser mined, single hotspots are as good as overlaps (tiny improvement some argue). Reserve level doesn't help either, whether it's pristine or depleted makes no difference to the likelihood of a core payout. You have a set chance per valid rock (teardrop I believe in rocky for benitoite?) of a core being present. The chance of a specific core is increased by a hotspot. The true skill comes in getting a tried and tested hotspot, spotting the right rocks and not following other people's clouds. Certainly, trusting the PWS is not the whole answer.
I'd advise travelling above the plane of the rings in external camera to get the best view of the rock shapes and don't rely on the scan. All that glisters is not gold as someone once said.
Failing that, you just got a crappy hotspot.
