Opinion? It's not an opinion. That rear landing gear of the Alliance ships does look like they are about to make a mess on the landing pad. That's a fact.

Seth BradwellI'm just wondering what to do now the CG is over - I have enough money so trading and mining isn't really required anymore, not really in the mood for yet more combat right now and going against Thargoids will require a lot of grinding just for it to be mostly over by the time I am finished, I could finish off my PvP training ship so I can "get gud", but eventually I will be triple Elite so what else is there to do? It's starting to get to the stage where I would rather write stories about Elite than play Elite at some times, but having said that, I could just be burned out from so much time doing nothing but CZs. There's always some BGS stuff I guess...



Good question. I'm building a xeno ship to take advantage of the conflict while it lasts. And I'm building pvp builds for my carrier fleet to be ready for wing fights in odyssey.



I have been building a xeno ship and see people seem to be using them off carriers.

I don’t have a carrier, and I was wondering if a slightly direction is possible…

If we ignore that there are other ways of going on carriers for the moment, where systems within the bubble are being attacked by Thargoids can you still land at a planetary Starports, with shipyard on a planet.

If yes, then in theory it could be possible to fly a xeno ship with any modules desired to reach the system, and next transfer any special modules to the station for the fight.

Is anyone aware of a planetary starport being attacked by Thargoids?

Lastly, have people tried using xeno ships not off a carrier?

That ship is perfect in all forms unlike the fat 747 look alike. The banana with engines is still the worst looking ship in the game.

Kenji_088Well, ppl did not have FC's about a year ago so yeah, ppl used to do that.

I guess you could look at galnet for a good system under attack and then search on EDDB or here for the nearest system with a shipyard.
Or ask a friendly neigbor FC for a lift.


Looks like I will be going on reconnaissance to investigate.

The fact that the Cutter resembles a 747 is part of why I like it! The concept of an airliner pretending it's a fighter jet is hilarious to me.

Do NOT underestimate a Cutter...

The engines of the Imperial Cutter produce more thrust than 8 Saturn V rockets, or 510 Boeing 787-8's.

When boosting from a standstill, my Cutter reaches 400 m/s in about 3 seconds for an acceleration of 133 m/s/s (more than 13 g's).

Its current mass is 2150 tons, so its engines are producing 285817 kilonewtons of thrust.

If my math holds up, the engines are producing more than 76,885,266 horsepower mid-boost.

This all goes to show you that the true marvels of the elite universe are the palm trees in tourism stations- virtually unaffected only a few hundred meters away from the equivalent of 8 simultaneous Saturn V rocket launches.

Planetary base were never attacked. People were doing this prior FCs:
Use your exploration ship to move to the region - find undamaged starport and transfer your AX ship there. Then if you leave your ship in the nebulas and the station it is stored is attacked - then all you need is to find a nearby undamaged starport and repeat the transfer in order to use your ship.

You can use AX ship without FC - rescue ships provide refuel , rearm and restock

hot damn and my cutter is faster than that but i think mine is lighter

airliners fly at about 250m/s
so now i fully understand and appreciate the speed of my ships. it kills me that my cutter is almost double the speed and many times the size and my viper is 400m/s slower than earth's escape velocity.

that does sound quite funny but now think of a 747 bigger and faster and it becomes funnier




it has more incommon with a drop ship interms of length

Remember you're doing those speeds in a vacuum.

I imagine it would require quite a bit of brute force to push something that big through an Earth-like atmosphere. But seeing how big some of the drives are... maybe not so far fetched.
