KilladarkSo the Elite + ranks are they already working? I remember turning in 200mill of carto and did nothing for explore rank...

Or it takes much more than that to move the needle.

I've been combat Elite since 2016 and if my rank isn't updated to reflect it... it's kinda shitty. Moreover, what's the point of adding five new ranks anyway if they serve no purpose?

Aleksander MajjamOh man, that video is telling. This is my favorite part.

Fdev in an interview: We didn't want to do ship interiors because we thought that after the 5th or 6th time that people would be tired of going through their ship to take off, especially if they're in a rush.

Really, Fdev? That troubles you more than having all your players grind to death anyway. Lol.

Personally, I would have absolutely loved ship interiors. Imagine walking through an FC.

Eve Online has created the Walking in Station patch, nicely done, who permit to visit and use your personal quarters, to see your character, and to exists out of the ship. It's solo (because it's your personal headquarters) and don't add specific gameplay or interactions. They said more than 80% of players have disactivated the option after some weeks, and they put it off. I like the option very much at the time they throw it in the game, but I use it like an AFK room more than anything else.

I think Fdev don't want to takes time to develop a feature who will be very secondary and maybe ignored because the game is already slow, and players will try to cut the waiting time to a minimum.
Fdev can add it later if needed, but this don't add any gameplay nor any social advantage to the game, so... it's very, very secondary IMO Running in a ship, disembarking at slow pace can be cool in the first month of game, but can be very frustrating later.

Instead of personal ship interiors, I think I'd rather see them implement boarding options for enemy capital ships or stations and such.

But, having that would provide the option to move around in one's ship, & certainly greatly increase the Immersion & in-game RP factor, especially if other players can do the same, similar to the current multi-crew function at least, wouldn't it?

The FDev's excuse as to why they haven't is certainly plausible, despite many having requested that over a good period of time. But, that also doesn't mean that their excuse isn't both based on their speculation & thinly veiled.

EDO is, in at least some measure, about immersion, right? Lots of things in EDO ("spacelegs") can already be done in EDH (SRV), correct? As to ship interiors, why did the FDevs provide any interiors at all, what there is of them, if not to add an immersion factor?

I agree with you on all the additional workload that would require, & at this time, considering the state of EDO (for whatever reasons) the FDevs seem to have more than enough on their plate as it is. But, it seems to me that the calls for being able to walk around inside one's ship have been a long time & constant interest in a certain number of players, & all the disappointments expressed when that wasn't implemented with EDO was a huge disappointment to many.

Perhaps, 1 day soon(tm) when EDO is fixed, the next natural development of being able to walk around inside ships will be realized.

Hope springs eternal, but considering the glacial progress of development & implementation, I'll not be holding my breath.

EvE Online's "Walking in Station" (which was ultimately called "Incarna") failed because of a lot of broken promises.

1) At launch only 1(!) of the 4 promised flavours (1 per superpower) was available.

2) Players were promised to invite other players over to their personal quarters. Didn't happen.

3) They promised a promenade where players could rent out slots and run player-owned businesses, like this Matari bar (which would finally give use to the "Exotic Dancers"-commodity) where you could also play mini-games in which you could bet ISK against other players. Not included at launch and not even an ETA available.

4) Monocle-Gate. The sudden and unannounced introduction of a cosmetic microtransaction store using another currency called "AURUM", its "highlight" being a cybernetic monocle that sold for $50. Yes, that's fifty dollars, no typo. For an item that you were not even capable to show off to other players. One dev even tried to defend this, saying that "people are willing to spend $2,000 on jeans in RL, so what's this fake outcry about?"

Add to this that even those small rooms were not optimized, with similar drops in FPS that we currently see in EDO, and CCP dropped the ball on that expension even worse then FDev did just now. That was the real reason why 80% of the players turned it off. The backlash was so extreme that the entire further development of that feature got shelved, eventually abandoned completly and Incarna ultimately REMOVED(!) from the game.

No the reason was there was no gameplay to it, simple as that.

You can chech how long ago the market of said station was updated on inara.
It's shown on the right side of the list.
If its very old and the commodity is uncommon. Its prob not worth the risk.

Also. Make sur to check the export tab if you want to buy.
Would not be the first i make that mistake (and prob not the last time too).

Lol, check the export tab.... ha ah aha ahaha aaa Now I see it...

Just out of interest for you guys, how old is old in your books? The record was 22 hours out of date when I checked (clearly on the import tab not export so explains a lot I guess) But in any case, is 22hrs old for you guys, or are you thinking of weeks/+++?

Cheers!

Actually there was one bit that people had a lot of fun with: The fact that you could change the videos the TV in your quarters played with whatever you fancied.

Just messed up a foot mission and got shot. Rebuy screen gave me the option of remaining on foot with all my g3 Mav suit etc. So I chose that.
Obviously woke in a prison ship 60ly from anywhere. Took the Apex but when I get to the nearest station to my mission, there was no ship. Not only can I not transport it from the mission settlement. It no longer appears on my list of owned ships.
I even took another ship down to the settlement but I couldn't see my old ship and everyone is still pretty hostile so I didn't look at any terminals, but I'm pretty sure it's entirely gone.
Is this something I accidentally chose when I selected the mav suit on rebuy? Does it automatically remove the ship you were in from the game? I don't want to report a bug if its something I've done. But I spent a lot of engineering time on that ship and I wouldn't have chosen a suit over a fully engineered ship if I'd known.

EDIT: According to the system map the ship is flagged as still being on the planet. However, I've been to the settlement and it's not there.
I loaded EDH back up and it says the ship is stored at the station, but it does not appear in my list of owned ships.

If youre in a popular trade route for commodity X and a lot of cmdrs are around, chance are even less then 1,5h is old.
I would say 24h is good. Altho i sometimes still go for a few days old anyway. Like i said. Depends on the commodity.
Because of the daily server tick.
Supplys change because of it.
But thats just my take on it tho.

Inara (and other sites such as EDDB) don't update the commodities direct from ED API, but take their data from a 3rd party PC app called EDMC. Because it is only on PC it doesn't take account of any commodity sales made by PS4 or XBox players. EDMC updates its database every time a CMDR lands at a station.
So, if you are playing on PC and are not running EDMC then you have no rights to complain about the market data being out of date. You should have a batch file that automatically opens EDMC when you load ED.

Oh and on the subject of ship interiors - Light Hawk is spot on. Enemy boarding (or pirates boarding your ship) is the only long-lasting gameplay that interiors would be good for. FDev will roll them out, but hopefully they'll keep the fade to chair to prevent folk dying of boredom every time they board their T10. Just imagine docking at an FC and having to spend 20 mins walking through litter strewn, bland metal corridors before you could get to the commodity market.

Badpenny Belle I have some bad news for you, friend.

Message from Pilots Federation:

Congratulations, Commander!
For your remarkable, astonishing success on the fields of tedious brain-numbing arse-flattening grind, that definitely made you stand out of the crowds, because now you probably look odd and have various health issues, the Pilots Federation has awarded you with special sign, irremovable decal, forehead tattoo, prefix to your name, highlighted marker on other's sensors, warning lights, and other means to show your distinguished success and unbelievable determination and devotion to the process of rank grind, stubbornness and a fact of having some seriously durable arse, that could help people to keep their safe distance away from you.
You are now one of 'Sextuple Elite Plus'.

Elite V better grant access to Raxxla itself or people will shit meta-alloys.

In terms of quantities and prices at any given station, are the commodity markets the same between the Horizon universe and the Odyssey universe?

Some would like it, others not. I get it.

At least, an option to choose 1 or the other.

Problem solved.

Eddb is updated by console players using EDSM. I do this myself on Xbox.
