AndrewsI feel like your cons don't even come CLOSE to those pros.

There's more pros than that. It's mainly about QOL. Recent posts pointing to using specialist ships are relevant. Having a portable base of operations to store all your modules and ships means you can swap everything out, whenever you want, at most 1 jump away from your area of current activity.

Epi's list are things the FC gives you that you can't get elsewhere, but, the FC as a base of operations is a level of convenience that easily dwarfs the 'ball and chain' whine (or else why keep it?).

The imperial clipper and cutter are god-awful ugly. Sue me.

Edit: ALL imperial ships are god-awful ugly. Gutamaya must've been on that stuff when they designed them, sheesh.

Could not have said better myself, thank you. Im much more for the alliance style of ships than the garbage that the empire pushes.

Honestly, I prefer the military styling of the Fedneck ships - they feel like they're proper combat ships to me.

Comparing imp ships to feds is like comparing a luxury Learjet to the latest fighter aircraft. That's how the design feels to me.

Totally agree that the Federation ships look like proper combat ships. But I still love flying around in a space ship that looks like it might as well have been made by Rolls Royce.

Everyone knows the Ferdie is just the love child between an angry Space Shuttle and an F-22.

I really wish the Mamba was the better ship between it and the Fer-de-Lance. Mamba's remind me of the Skater boats (the large catamaran speed boats) and for that reason alone I like them. Also wish the pilot seat for the FDL was centered. Other than that, they are good ships.

Awesome info! Thank you. :-)

I have been busy unlocking Guardian modules and refitting an Alliance Chieftain and Challenger into my 1st attempts at anti-xeno ships.
Have added a beam laser with thermal vent for purpose of cooling.

Also initially tried an armoured power plant, but rapidly ran out of power on the Chieftain once the Guardian Gauss cannons were added.
So have currently switched to an overcharged plant instead, (2nd engineering to be added).

Need to do some cargo runs with the Cutter to create a destruction fund, Zzz.
Then the fun begins!

Overcharging PP on AX ship is a big NO! And it is not needed... OK , I looked at your build - fuel scoop and guardian FSD booster should go - this ship is not for going to Colonia. If you do not have FC - you travel with other ship and transfer combat or AX ship. This is how it worked prior FCs.

I do not know why you people want to invent the wheel. Just use the builds from https://www.antixenoinitiative.com/wiki/ship-builds

It would be good if while there you read some of the stuff actually .

Thank you for having a look it is appreciated. I will be asking some more questions soon.
However, one of you comments was not coolest. I hope your day has been kinder to you today.

Both the Mamba & FDL have gorgeous interiors in VR (and that strut is no longer an issue too) with excellent overhead visibility too.
I've always wished the Mamba was a bit faster, everything about it shouts "Race Me!"

Well duh... with the exception of the Imperial Eagle Gutamaya ships, including the Majestic, were designed as multipurpose ships, not pure combat vessels.

Speaking of Gutamaya's Majestic, at this point I would pay money to be able to own and fly one of those.

The Imperial ships have never suited my playing style. The Courier is far less value for money than a Cobra, the Clipper can't be docked at outposts and it's hardpoint placement mostly precludes the use of fixed weapons, and I have only recently ranked up enough to get a Cutter, and again I struggle to see what I can do in that I can't do in a Conda or T9. I may look at them again at some point, see if I can make the most out of what they are, but other ships seem far more practical, the Empire really does put form over function.
