Then you're underestimating FAoff quite a bit. Not having to correct your course to turn significantly reduces your turn radius.

Players and NPCs have the same flight model as far as I'm aware and higher rated NPCs are capable of flying with FAoff. They absolutely do cheat, but not in that regard.

You absolutely can do that to achieve faster turns, but you'll need to get used to it to avoid sending yourself into a spiral. If FAoff makes you sick, idk if you want to do that. It's just an explanation why some NPCs can still outturn you in less agile ships.

Pay attention to your speed. If it's in the central 'blue zone', your will turn faster.

A software can execute commands more precisely than humans with 0 reaction time.

Okay, but then how would I resume my normal speed, upon changing back if I get behind my target. Often find after the change my ship is going in reverse and any advantage I feel I would have gained is gone.

There was a debate about this and I think everyone settled with AI being done with FAon in mind.
Never seen anyone claiming its FAoff after that.

Interesting, from when's that?
Because I'm somewhat sure that I've seen the AI doing FAoff turns, especially Elite FdLs.
