Visceraquite playable at 30 - 40 fps in normal space.

Same here. Maybe it's personal, but even 30-40 fps are making me dizzy. I need none less than 50, 60+ at best. Rare occasion of game actually making me feel physically bad because of poor performance. Many games that run at same '30-40' fps I just find jerky and uncomfortable, but this... Something strange. Can't play it more than 20-30 minutes.

Having spent a few hours playing Odyssey since 'launch' (and in alpha) it appears that performance has taken another hit with the patch (which is alleged to contain telemetry code) with a slight drop in FPS according to the counter, but with frequent, very brief, stutters which are tiring over time.

Maybe at some point performance will approach that of Horizons, but not today.

Perhaps. I hope. But even without any stutters, with stable 30-40fps it's still unplayable for me. So I'm sticking to space. Good timing for buying a Carrier, phah, I can keep myself out of the stations for a longer periods... Goes well with a mindset of a weird anarchist who tends to stay distant, phah.

My PC isn't that bad, it's just not so new. But I'm irritated with the whole idea of lowering visual settings, making the same familiar things look worse, to keep up with the performance needs. And making game look bad is a quick way to lose any reason to play it.

Nice, have a great time - if we were able to disembark on our carriers...

From the graphics options a small reduction in Model Draw Distance setting may get you enough FPS gain to increase comfort - trading off the clarity distance, sadly.

Yup. Here goes the same thing. Why I have to reduce anything in any way... To see same things that I had seen 'yesterday', pre-Odyssey. But worse. So I'll just be ignoring their new and 'awesome' content. Until they optimise it and/or I'll be able to overkill it building a new PC.

p.s. If we were able to disembark on our carriers... Phah. Then for me it wouldn't be such an 'escape option' in matters of dealing with their bad code.

Haha note those 30 - 40, with 15 drops are my Horizons performance.

Hate to think what would happen with odyssey....

Yeah, that's bad. I know that really 30-40 are quite playable for most, it have something to do with my personal perceptions.

MeowersIt would be better if they released EDO at winter. Could save me a fortune on room heating.

It's ok. I've been using my PC to make breakfast every morning.

I use my machine for donating number-crunching cycles with my CPU & GPU to research projects when I'm not in-game; it heats my office quite nicely in the winter. Summer, not so much... I have to back everything down from "Full" so I don't sweat even when my aircon is going, & causing my machine to shut down from overheating.

I'll wait until EDO is further optimized, thank you.

Kenji_088Are combat bonds not properly counted anymore at the moment?
Thought i would do some to unlock my next engineer.

Spend only a few hours in CZ and turned them in.
But the codex still stats i have done zero.

The Codex is not updated until the NEXT time you either dock at a station or relog in. It's always one refresh behind.

It's just... Sound of GPU cooler roaring at 100% is making me a bit anxious about 'I can't let it run that hot', even knowing that 80-90C might be not that bad for Nvidia cards. Goddamned bitcoin miners made them cost three times more than they have to, and I still have to work on this PC (and my work have its requirements for PC performance too). So no no no, no stress tests please.

Nice addition to dizziness, headaches and losing a concentration. And hey, I'm young. Maybe, phah. I've played many other games before and experienced similar performance issues, just finding it uncomfortable to play, and ED:O... Somehow it's an exception. Feeling physically bad because of playing a DLC of a game that once helped you to stay okay mentally. Phah. Love the irony.

You're off in more ways than one, sad.

Nah, just a rant of disappointment. I really liked this game from the moment I started playing it and now... this. So, I'll stick to the space, my carrier (less GPU load than stations) and will wait until optimisation or the moment when I can build a newer PC.

p.s. Once tainted by Ultra settings, you can never come back!

Thank goodness that at least for the time being, EDH & EDO remain effectively separate games.

I was so pissed-off with the FDevs releasing such a botched mess with EDO, I stopped playing E:D at all since 5/18.

After binge-watching the "For All Mankind" series, then Bicentennial Man, then several SciFi NetFlix choices, & today, the most recent episode of The Expanse, I finally feel motivated to log into EDH & continue where I left off, material-gathering in the crystal forests.

When I get pissed-off, it's deep & profound, & takes a good while for me to cool down. Now, I'm waiting for EDDiscovery to finish its lo-oo-on-ngg updating.

I never noticed much extra noise from my machine playing demanding games but then again, I wear a headset for the crisper & directional sound, the ability to use a mic when needed, & so my tenants don't have to experience the crashing booming sounds of jumping, things getting blown up, etc.

Then I have to wrap myself up in a tin foil to play, because, okay, I can suppress the noise wearing a headset (still prefer to play with speakers though, they're good)... But PC is standing near my left leg and I feel how it heats up!

p.s. We had a Guardian Disco Suit... So it's an Odyssey Immersion Suit.
