Mary QuinnHi there! Newbie question about explorations ship. I like my Diamondback Explorer, but I think it's a little too cramped for the modules. And I like very much the Falcon Delacy ships, so... is the Krait Phantom a good exploration ship? Take in consideration: I'm a recent commander, I've my pilot licence from just 1 month now. Thank you for your advices!

A Krait Phantom is a very good choice for long distance travel, exploration, materiel collection (e.g. at Guardien sides or HGE zones). It has enough slotes for everything you need, you can land it on most places (not as small as an ASP Explorer but still fine) it is quite fast and with the double engeneered 5A FSA you can jump 70Ly.

I have two of them: Unkas for daily work , material collection etc. and Falkenauge for exploration.

ArtieSo yeah, unless something really bad happen and they will scratch the plans, there will be stuff after Odyssey.

Unless something really bad happens? I thought we were well past that point already.

Not really, it can be much worse in respect to the game longevity that will force Frontier to reconsider the plans on the future expansions. So far, it looks not so bad, although it certainly isn't the best time.

MutantKeyboardHey guys.

I have BGS question.

Is it possible to affect the population of a system, through keeping happiness, economy and security high?

And then, a follow up question. If so, does increased population help to create new starports in system?

Thanks.

I believe the populations are fixed and can't be affected by players.

I concur 07. The Silverbacks have been in control of our home system of Arexe since late 3303. Our system happiness and economy has been maintained at a high level throughout and security is the same. But the population of Arexe is the same now as it was when we set up home there. Birth control in the 34th century seems to be down to a fine art

Although I'm no fan of Lakon's obsession with putting the cockpit right out in front, making it an easy target & putting a bulls-eye on the pilot, the main advantage that I can see with the AspX is the jump range vs purchase price, upgrading & insurance cost; although from what I've read, the Krait Mk II & the Python are roughly equivalent, with the Krait being more offensive-combat capable & the Python, more defensive-capable. The Krait Mk II can launch a fighter, whereas the Python can haul an impressive amount of cargo.

As to the Krait Phantom, IMO if you have the credits to spend (don't forget the upgrading costs & needed increased insurance) the Krait Phantom might represent a more flexible ship for exploration.

Personally, I thought the AspX to represent a better value. With a full complement of weapons & armor, including filled utility slots, with the G5 FSD double-engineered for distance with Mass Manager & the G5 Guardian FSD booster, my AspX can jump ~60LY. Ofc, I can strip that down for a cardboard build, but when I'm way far out there, I prefer being prepared for the unknown & a bit more resilient to make it back without losing my Carto data.

If you don't mind the extra expenses, then the Krait Phantom might interest you. It does look lots better!

I see FDev is trying out new CG-reward options again...

Azaladshu Free has offered credit rewards to any pilots willing to help secure its independence by handing in Combat Bonds at Eratosthenes Ring in the Azaladshu system.

Should Azaladshu Free match tiers with Neche Inc, its independence will be confirmed.
Should Azaladshu Free end one tier ahead of Neche Inc, then Coalition of Uteran will declare independence.
Should Azaladshu Free end two tiers ahead of Neche Inc, then Lp 726-6 Free will also declare independence.
Should Azaladshu Free end three tiers ahead of Neche Inc, then Gluscap Labour will also declare independence.

And much more interesting than those Community Goals where people are being bribed with a much better reward for one side

Also, wonder if ground-based combat bonds also count in. -reply to me: it does.

At least they made the percentage visible. It took many years...

Is anyone interested in the new CG? No new gear, no idea why the person in charge even matters. Simply put, I can't find a reason to care. Not even a little reason. Maybe next week it will pick back up with something exciting.

You could help to dismantle the Federation.

I relish the opportunity to kick some Fedneck butt. To add insult (and a little bit of hypocrisy) to injury, I will be using my corvette.
