Amata Lirein"Käse" (And yes, it really is the German word for "cheese" as Rebecca stated) is now the global reward for both the bountyhunting and the trade CG

Special Kumo Crew cheese with special ingredients. You'll want more of it soon.

A manual edit, somebody thought it's funny.

ArtieYeah, the Epic accounts have that problem - Frontier's server refuses to provide any data when there was no login to Epic/game before. I have reported it to them here a while ago.

I always thought having to log in to Epic had something to do with their account security setup. Not anything with Inara or Frontier.

Normally, yes, but the problem is that once Inara gets an OAuth access/refresh tokens to Frontier to get the commander's data, it's outside the Epic and I can get the commander's OAuth profile without any problems (as it's provided by Frontier's server regardless the game platform). But, no commander/game data at all, which is quite weird and a source if this problem. It's not happening for any other platforms, for example console players using Xbox/Playstations sites for connections, etc.

Unlike many games elite and the people who play it together can teach you things .. they teach you that you don't have to climb mountains to be on top of the world, and even the ugliest of places can have beauty, as long as you take the time to look, and it's ok to get lost as long as you find your way back if I didn't have this game id miss the fact that it teaches you to find your own way, and how to move on through your own barriers, this universe holds beauty in even the most unexpected places, and that there are bright places, in the darkest of corners, and if you can't see that, you can be a bright place in a dark universe. Elite is more than just a game, it's the people who play it, together and in love of a path we all set to our own rhythm.

SUPPORT ELITE PLAY THE GAME FIND YOUR BRIGHT PLACES.

Kenji_088After being ganked multiple time in different place's today for little more then shits and giggles.
Iam having a rather hard time seeing it that way.

I do agree with some other part of what you said tho.

So i will indeed continue to "support" elite.
It will only no longer be in open, i fear (or rather veeery rarely).

If you want to play in Open, there's no complaining about getting 'ganked'. E:D has alternatives.

Synthya WylderE:D has alternatives.

That if you are a PC player. Console players don't really have any alternatives I am afraid (no, No Man's Sky isn't really much of a space sim).

However, if Microsoft remastered Freelancer and gave it a multi a persistent universe server along with major rework, that would be something.

I believe they were referring to the fact that you can play in private groups or solo if you don't like open.

That said, Elite does need some form of consequence system though for "bad" actions. As is, there's basically no consequence for flying around murdering players. Hell if they were hauling something valuable, then the act is basically rewarded. Not saying players who like role playing pirates need to be chased out of Elite, but what's the fun in pretending to be the villain if there's no real opposition? NPC cops show up? Your probably in a ship so well engineered you could literally go take a nap while your ships auto turrets do all the work. Loitering at a space station has more consequences than murdering other players. At least in Star Citizen, there is a prison play element.

And here we go again...

You have guns. Use them.

People complaining about being ganked when flying in open?

This is refreshing. I feel like it's 2018 again.

Isaiah EvansonYou have guns. Use them.

I don't have to. Engineered Cutter shields don't go away. But that's kind of my point. "USE YOUR GUNS AND FIGHT BACK NOOBS!!!!!" Engineering literally makes this impossible. What about the novices who finally get the courage to leave the starter system only to come face to face with a fully engineered FDL waiting for them? Unless the pilot of the engineered ship doesn't know what they are doing, the novice literally has only 2 choices: combat log (which can get you banned) or die. If they were ganked off of a settlement, they have to switch to PG/Solo or else they will just be griefed off the landing pad until the ganker gets bored.

Not complaining that it happens, just that there isn't really a viable counter to it. Mostly because of the disparity caused by engineering. That said kind of wish it was 2018 again. Oh the investments I'd make.....

And I will just repeat we should get rid of engineering, because there's no chance for an unengineered ship to have a fair fight. Sure, the counterpoint is "do Engineering" - but the main issue is that some people are simply confined to PG/Solo thanks to the fact they can spend even a few months in order to get anywhere to PVP built - while they just want to play the game and not to land on 161th planet to get 1559th <put name here> fragment.

It's not just matter of skill - in some cases you can't even run away from players who have +800m/s boost and weapon effects that render your ship dead in water with broken FSD despite shields.

And this is not complaint about ganking but rather means to counter it - especially with something else than just (trying) to run away.

Your assumption is based on the belief that the first overpowered enemy a new Commander will encounter is a player. It usually isn't. It's usually a larger NPC ship than the one they're flying and it's usually of a greater difficulty than they've encountered before. Engineered, unengineered, NPC or player, it doesn't matter - sometimes you are simply outmatched.

It's up to you at that point to decide whether or not you'd prefer to take a shot at fleeing and maybe getting away, or earning your stripes and taking it on the chin. We all do it. And people who avoid it at all costs - including combat logging - miss out on the valuable experience.

NPCs do not fly like player ships, Isaiah. I can easily bolt through Elite mediums and larges with a medium ship without any issues, in some cases even without any dent on the shield hull. Exactly the same medium ship has always been murdered by comparable-size player if I tried to fight back.

Not that I am not doing PVP on daily basis, but if you can plow through three engineered NPCs one after another without problems but can't even put down a shield on engineered player ship - then something is seriously off with the balancing.

No, they fly worse than player ships and will still kill an inexperienced player outright because of said player's inexperience.

You're missing my point entirely.
