I just found out that ED's launcher supports a few command line arguments:

ArgumentPurpose
/edoSelect Elite Dangerous Odyssey
/edhSelect Elite Dangerous Horizons
/edSelect Elite Dangerous (base game)
/autorunLaunch selected game automatically
/autoquitQuit launcher automatically after exiting the game

In Steam you can right-click Elite Dangerous and open the properties dialogue and enter launch options. I'm now using "/edo /autorun /autoquit", so whenever I launch ED in Steam, the game will start automatically.

High grade raw materials do not drop from rocks. For example: if you need Polonium which is used for premium jumponium there are just two ways. Surface prospecting or up-trading. Trading lower category for higher grade mats is very inefficient. I am not sure for ED:O but in Horizons even going to random geological sites is more effective in general. Asteroid laser mining will fill your hold with just lowest grade materials.

Hi all - Is anyone in a fleet carrier heading for the bubble from Colonia that I could hitch a lift on? Happy to pay my way. Thanks.

According to Fleet Carrier Discord there is a carrier Aimed At The Stars J1X-35N in Luchtaine making the trip back to the bubble in 2 days.

Thank you.

During my trip to Beagle Point I noticed that 50% of my fuel were dead weight, so today I replaced my Courier's class 3 fuel tank with a class 2 one. The jump range gain is almost 2 ly, and my top speed now never drops below 590/800. The downside is I need to refuel every two full distance jumps, but then again, I usually filter for scoopables anyway, and there were scoopables all the way to Beagle.

I've put the Fuel Rats on speed dial, just in case.

When you need it and don't got it, you'll sing a different tune...

For the bubble it is OK. My Lunge is with downgraded fuel tank.

I wish there was a slider for fuel tank utilization in the galaxy map, similar to the cargo slider.

I still remember how worried I was about running out of fuel last year. For the ride to Colonia I basically turned my Sidewinder into one large fuel tank, and that slowed me down a lot. Especially with that tiny fuel scoop. Those were the noob days...

Did the same to the fuel tank in my Jumpaconda. Only has enough fuel for one long jump. But it has a 7A fuel scoop on it. Jump 80+ LY's, insta fill tank, jump again.

I never used additional module for fuel. I do fly some ships without fuel scoop in the bubble but then I filter by populated system and apply filter to route plotting. You need to be extra careful when jumping to a system because if there is no refueling station ... well, I have a trump card "Call UNX Conqueror".

MAVERICKbirdySo, there I am, puttering about in my SRV (practice for when I finally do the Guardian Ruins and grab me that sweet, sweet GPP, you see), when I decide to also try my hand at surface mining for some raw mats (apparently every engineer I’m interested in talking to and their mothers are in dire need of sulphur for some reason…well, at least Tod is, after he FINALLY started returning my calls; what are they using it for?). I throw on some Credence Clearwater Revival, head to the nearest raw mat spawn, and just chill out as I roam around to scoop up the mat drops when I’m presented with an…uncomfortable question:

Is surface mining for raw mats really more efficient than just regular asteroid mining? Because if it isn’t, I really don’t wanna spend the dosh on snatching/outfitting a mining ship but have that sinking feeling that I might need to.

So I pass the question to you: Which is more efficient for grinding raw mats? Surface mining or asteroid mining? And if the answer is asteroid mining, which ship should I grab and how should I outfit it to maximize the pain I must endure? (Keep in mind that I’m primarily a PvE bounty hunter and have no patience for staring at rocks all day)

Surface mining goes faster. More so if you go to HIP 36601 and harvest crystalline shards.

Greetings commanders. I'm new to this site though I've been playing the game a few years. Currently back at Beagle Point after my first trip to Salome's Reach. I'm thinking about a return trip to the bubble via Sagittarius Arm and looking for sites on the way back. I'm piloting a Dolphin, All that Glitters, (which is a very under-rated exploration vehicle) with a 45ly jump range. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
