got a friend who near a gas giant and has the symbol of a long line with a x next too it. he doesn't know what it means
it's also a class 3 gas giant if that helps

On the system map, bodies that orbit the combined gravity of 2 (or more?) stars, instead of one or the other, have this symbology. That planet will have a name like Body ABC 1 instead of Body A 3

It is also quite interesting regarding an issue to define situation when two celestial bodies orbit each other.
When barycenter is located inside one of the bodies (the more massive one) - we have planet-satellite configuration (Earth-Moon);
When barycenter is located outside of both bodies - we have binary planet configuration (Pluto-Charon).

(*cough*) 'we have binary dwarf planet configuration' (in your specific example)

Shame that E:D can't calculate gravity fluctuations for binary systems, as when two bodies are really close, it would be noticeable. When placed on one of those planets, you'll have little to no gravity when its neighbouring body is right above your head, and you'll have stronger gravity on the opposite side. I always wonder - is it possible to have zero-G (or even negative values) on a surface in these binary systems?.. Would be quite peculiar.

Since gravity is an exponential decay you would get a relatively low impact as a person on the surface. And the 0 G thing would probably only work if the 2 surfaces of the identical planets are touching. But that would be Impossible since the planets would destroy each other or become one in such a close and fast orbit.

I'd also like to see multiple shadows on planets with multiple stars in the system.

No. It is not possible, your mass still be related to the mass of body you are standing on, not barycenter somewhere in space. Moreover, the value of "G" is not only determined by mass but also but rotational quickness of the world.

Density plays a big role in gravity as well. Hence why Neurtron Stars can be the size of a city and yet have exceptionally intense gravity.

I need a war system for my field test. Any of you supporting a cause in the bubble that wants to share with me?
Be careful as I do not guarantee support or opposition

Yeah, and a tablespoon of their degenerated neutron matter has a mass of Earth

My mistake. According to Wikipedia:

They are so dense that a normal-sized matchbox containing neutron-star material would have a weight of approximately 3 billion tonnes, the same weight as a 0.5 cubic kilometre chunk of the Earth (a cube with edges of about 800 metres) from Earth's surface.

Well then... seems like the NMLA didn't take kindly for not getting their mouthpiece Dexter elected by the Marlinist colonies and responded in kind...

Stillman Hub in HIP 22550 is now a damaged station...

Odd though that was the station that was used by Dexter. Guess Theta 7 wanted to silence her and maybe Whyte so they cannot give away information?

Either way: That will surely convince "your people" to support you after all, NMLA. Nice work!

GryphnnZvoruna has many high ground combat zones

What is the cause? I can easily find systems in war with high CZ.
