SakashiroSo how many torpedoes are required to take down those class 8 generators? Here's a list:

Interesting information. Not just the shield stats but the table itself will let me figure out how to use tables in here

That said, I'm concerned you don't fully appreciate the beating you're going to take in a T9. Grom Bombs or Torps threat is ofc significant, but, everyone that pulls you out will be laying a beatdown at a rate no other ship in the game experiences (except maybe the T10).

Your ship is classed Large so it takes full damage from all weapons. Your ship engineered to the gills for max stats will still be a gianormous bullseye that can dodge nothing so it will take every shot. The only thing you can 'outrun' are torps and even then only if your opponent doesn't just mossey on up to your nose and shoot them down your throat. If you spec thermal resist you will get absolute damage pummelled with plasmas and ramming, if you spec High cap your beatings will taste like thermal. All for what? Even IF you successfully dock at a station in Deciat it will be because the only ganker in the system happened to be meming with a sidewinder at the time and nothing to do with amazing sk1llz0rs or build.

I want you to succeed and have fun, but honestly this is a fool's errand. Not just because the T9 makes this a nigh impossible task but because, due to ED:O splitting the playerbase etc..., any 'victory' will be hollow. Posting your taunt vid to GEA will just get you 'muh try that again with me online and see what happens' retorts at which point you'd be facing builds designed specifically for Mexican birthday parties.

Exactly! I've pointed few times that type-9 is a puncbag.

... And her build can't outrun even torps unladen as it makes just 207m/s boost per 8 sec with 4 pips to ENG.

Guess why I looked up info about reverb torps.

Since it's unlikely that my shields will drop instantly, I need less hull and can change the build accordingly.

Wanna try a cutter ram? Most used pvp large ships are Vette and cutter and those will ram you for sure. Especially a slowpoke type-9.

On the other topic of 'what to do?'. It looks that we will have some Thargoid action soon.

Have you considered building AX combat ship and joining the effort of defending humanity?

Rayman.
Rayman.i survived 45g planet. The stress was huge ngl but i managed to land, drive a bit then take off.
https://postimg.cc/gallery/Rt36yBZ

I have recorded, if someone wants evidence, I will show later

here is the video. dont mind low fps. im using gtx 1060

Looks good . But cant help wondering should it be 45 G or 4 . 5 G planet ??
Only reason is that it looked fairly straight forward . Perhaps a credit to your pilot skills
I remember landing at
11G planet (KYLOALL CL-Y G1518) . I tried in a Eagle first then a Type 10 . Type 10 was definitely harder but it was more of a struggle that this as I recall
I will have to go out there and try it

I went to five high-G planets, and all but the first were a waste of time. Because if you can land on Achenar 3, you can land anywhere. With any ship and any type of thrusters.

Landings in more than 6G are unrealistic because human pilots simply wouldn't survive long enough. So I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the game caps gravity simulation at 6G. Achenar 3 exceeds that already.

People have used the T-9 for actual PvP combat, and you're telling me I can't outfit it to survive 25 seconds?

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

for sure it would be harder if i used my anaconda instead of asp. AspX was fine until I pressed down thruster and u saw i had to boost the engine otherwise i could die.

now I'm back on the bubble because i heard some rumors about thargoids that are planning to attack some system. Perhaps next cg

You honestly believe anyone used a T9 for PVP and it wasn't either a joke, a setup, or both? The only way a T-9 is viable for PVP is maybe in a wing support role with cheese/healy beams. Even then it's a sitting duck if the opponents are using torps to kill the generator. Regardless, it does not apply to your intended use.

We're telling you you can't outfit it to survive Deciat-until-you-dock. Forget your imaginary '25 seconds' wishful thinking. Surviving 1 interdiction until back to SC is the least of your worries.

And of course the classic:

It's not a joke, it's about raising the stakes to make the game more fun. I have a 100% evasion success rate in my two Couriers, and it's getting boring. But if I ever change ship to do anything else, the lessons I learned in the Courier will not help but will actually harm because I will be in the habit of not doing the right things. These were your own words, remember? So now I'm changing the ship, because I love challenges. I'll either make it to the station and earn a few credits, or I'll have a lot of fun trying. Either way, I'll be entertained.

What about this one?

And type-10 is significantly better than type-9. Still I ask you - do you want a cutter ram test ?

That first video proves MY point. The only reason that fight happened with the FAS even though he was clearly not specced for it was because of how much of a joke the T9 interdicting him was. The T9 did have a friendly help him, and the FAS wasn't even bothering to fly (and the video points this out expressly) for over half the video. Had this fight happened with anything but corrosive MC (like plasmas or FC Rails?) those shields would have been in trouble. This was for the memes and thinking PVP T9 is actually a thing is naive.

As for the 2nd video: It's a T7, not a T9 which gives it at least 'some' potential for evasion. In a T9 you probably won't be able to 'boost past' your opponent like in standard encounters (because your turning rate is too slow and I doubt the boost would actually move you past the other ship anyways). You will get hammered in the brief time it takes to hyperjump to safety. Not to SC, not to the starport, but to another system to wait for your potato shields to regen all the while praying he doesn't have a Wake Scanner and gives chase. Fun fun fun. Inevitably this strategy relies on the impatience of the ganker and again proves my point. In a T9 the success is not up to you, it's up to the attacker.

You love challenges? You don't go from meaningless risk free evading in a Courier to impossible T9 Deciat trading. To continue on with my previous analogy: 'Whelp the toddler dipped their toe in the shallow end while gripping the ladder, time to throw them into the middle of the deep end. Enjoy the challenge! Wait where'd they go? Dun dun dun."

You want to have fun and actually learn something try trading in a ship that is a little more plausible, like say a Python. Better yet, become a pirate and really learn the whole thing from both sides.

Doesn't matter if no one understands you, go out there and prove the naysayers wrong.

And if they turn out to be right, well...at least you tried. Consider it an additional challenge to the one your trying to achieve.

I made a Type-10 armed semi trader (7E Cargo Rack) for fun a long while ago, but it had/has power and heat issues if I recall.....This discussion makes me want to take it out of mothballs and have some open trading fun...! But I could use tips on the build as I mostly tossed it together haphazard.
