Btw, you can do surface prospecting with ship too. Shooting features with a fixed laser and scooping manually(without limpets)

Rayman.I killed my first interceptor. Swarms are testing my patience. Idk what i doing wrong but i cant get rid of em fast enough.

The rank is not mandatory for squadron members, it just gives some privileges in discord server and there are ranks requirement for some organized activities/events.
I am member of different communities without being part of their squadrons.

Congrats on your kill! Membership is not required for Discord. All are welcome, and there is a section for people wanting advice.
Re: Swarm
You can outright kill them with flak launchers during the phase the Interceptors shields are up. They can also be avoided as your situational awareness and orbiting techniques improve.

Shambles1980I bought the game to fly a spaceship not drive about lol...
I used to drive SRV but then I have discovered that you can actually fly it on low gravity bodies.
SRV have just few thrusters. So you have limited freedom. Only pitch and roll + main thruster that works to lift the SRV. The "flying" is accelerating in direction. Thrust up to lift while keeping momentum. Pitch down to use the main thruster to keep moving forward. Pitch up to use main thrusters to stop/slow down. Level the nose to use main thruster to keep altitude. Roll can be applied for slight vector correction but it is not for sharp turns.

Buy cheap ship in Colonia, preferably sidewinder. Switch to it, leave station and get yourself killed either buy self-destruct or attack station. Do not rebuy your cheap ship but use the loaned sidewinder option. You will spawn in the bubble
