That makes 100% rational sense to me (and based on your posts on other topics, I suspect it makes sense to you too).

The cool part is you can work out the floor price per Ls of flight by difference in price divided by distance to port. Anything that doesn't cover your flight time at that rate probably should be over looked, unless you're in solo with an assistant to pull you out when you arrive. If so, all you have to worry about it getting NPC interdicted or you could go completely AFK for the trip.

I do hate those stations though. Free Anaconda or not. LOL

It does, but sometimes I wonder why stations or settlements would exist at these far away places.

I've started working on my logbook while in supercruise. Doing so is actually quite immersive.

The cost of fuel and most ship repairs in the ED universe are dirt cheap which means the only additional cost is travel time. Orbital stations I don't really understand why unless it is monitoring something or is home to some off the grid underground faction, but it seems fairly reasonable for surface settlements such as extraction/industry, morally ambiguous research facility, or top secret anti-thargoid ground combat training complex.

Why people build houses in non urbanized area? 2h supercruise time to cover distance to proxima cenaury is like taking a train to remote city in your country. There is a lot of people making a living by trucking goods to remote farms and location. I think some of documentary channels had series for trucking in Australia and other countries with rough roads.

If you are rich Fk you can use a FC to shorten travel times for large bulk delivery. But then, rich Fks do not care much about trade profits

AXI reporting bunch of crashed Thargoid ships in Cornsar system. It looks like Salvation's solution to prevent the attack has worked.

This might turn to be important milestone in human-thargoid conflict. Let's see what will happen next and how the green pest will respond to this.

Some of the trucks in this country get to about 200 tonnes, and travel for days. It makes ED seem rather unrealistic with only 700 odd tonnes of cargo at max. I guess fleet carriers take the place of ships like the evergiven.

Well, pulling 200t is not like getting 200t in/from orbit I guess. And if you look at ship's dimension you will see that they have limited space to work with.

Multiple crashed ships on several planets, some with floating rocks. I don't have odyssey to know if there is any funny business on the ground.

I think the travel times in ED are shortened for gameplay purposes. For example, my Courier can do 60 jumps of 40 Ly distance per hour. That's 2,400 Ly/h, and other ships are even faster. If you can travel that fast, it makes no sense for the Bubble to be as condensed as it is. People would settle all over the galaxy. And it doesn't make sense to have such profit margins when trading with remote settlements. On the other hand, if those profit margins are caused by distance to the main star, there's no reason to have those remote settlements.

There is a small detail. Most of the closest systems were colonized well before the existing FSD tech.

Hutton Orbital for example orbits Proxima Centauri - the closest star to Sol.

Yeah, entire Cornsar system wiped of Thargoids. Loads of crashed ships and both guardian and tharg mats to collect. A massacre for which, presumably, the Thargoids are going to retaliate on Thursday with the announced - all new CG with added competition for all who take part! It is the reason they included the CG fix in Update 7, so maybe something juicy?

Sakashiro it makes no sense for the Bubble to be as condensed as it is. People would settle all over the galaxy.

The FSDrive only came out in 3297, that's 10 years ago. Before that, the Faraway Jump drive (2800) needed infrastructure set up in each system before it could work. This took hundreds of years to install and then was immediately dumped when Quirium was lost. Before the Faraway drive, the max of any ship was 5LY.

I can kind a believe that there are settlements outside the bubble, small and frontier ish, they take time to set up. Ports and cities take decades to form and outside the immediate bubble and Colonia Elite doesn't have enough history for further expansion yet.

What a cool idea! Now, I'm gonna go read what you end up writing.
