August DavenportAre you talking about mission board missions? I've seen a couple like that, but not specifically named as "Source & Return".

Here's an example:

The mission reward is lower than the market value of the wine. The only way this makes sense is if the mission reward gets multiplied by the number of wing mates. Not sure if that's the case, because I never traded in a wing.

1. i gave up with thargoids.
2. i love it when an alliance enforcer in a viper mk3 says that will regret attacking them even tho my imperial cutter has already removed his shields even with the efficiency nerf to my pulse lasers.
3. that has annoyed me so much it now takes longer to take peoples shields down but if i go for overcharged i will glow hotter than the sun.

Wasn't update 7.01 supposed to fix those things?

SakashiroCan someone please explain to me the purpose of those wing "source & return" missions where the reward is below the market value of the goods to be sourced? For example, a station pays 50,000,000 Cr mission reward for 1,500 units of gold, but the commodities market at the same station pays 56,039 Cr * 1,500 = 84,058,500 Cr. Is there any benefit in accepting the mission instead of selling to the market directly?

If there's 4 in a wing each collect same amount of cargo , it will cost each of you 21,014,625 makes a profit 28,985,375 just need a wing off 4 to make money

Mission Generation numbers are RNG based, as is most everything, and mission credit rewards are capped at 50M. So, like most things, the cap sometimes trips over the numbers that RNG dreams up.

Other examples can include follow-up missions for delivery of items where the mission payout is actually less than the profit if you simply carried those items and sold them on the destination market. I have seen those types of examples as well. FDev reset values to attempt to limit profiteering from certain cargoes, and like most things they touch, it had other unwanted and illogical side effects that have not been addressed.

I'd agree with what's said above, but I'd also point out you're also receiving non-monetary compensation, even with the cash heavy pay out. In the given example, you earn reputation and influence for that faction. With good consideration, you'll also level your Faction rank and participate in BGS.

Granted that's not much, but if strict trade is your game over courier missions, etc., you've got that chance.

To me, it's not worth doing solo unless you have friends to do this with. Otherwise, your better off just selling to the market directly to get more money. Winged Trading Missions are good for increasing your Rank but that's about it.

Then Frontier needs to put them only in Open play and stop making them visible in Solo mode.

I don't understand what's wrong with Horizons after the update. I am currently collecting materials on a 0.04G planet, but my SRV is behaving as if the planet is over 1G. I can't get uphill at 0.04G with all the pips in the engines.

I gave up trying to understand things in this game.
