Burstar or somethingI think by 'interesting' Epi meant 'you have to pay at least some attention to what you're doing if you want it done quickly' whereas Jamesons you can hotkey a macro and watch TV on another screen.
Is Jamesons still works? When I tried it last time, login-logout grind seemed to be nerfed.

Anyway, as I've said in another channel, I don't need much of a grind, two hours at crystalline fields or HGEs and I'm done, I won't need it for months.

It def works. I'm literally here right now doing it on my alt. IIRC it was bugged early on after ED:O was released but I hadn't been near here until so not sure exactly what the problem was.

The crystal shards?
They have been placed very annoying, like under the surface, or "unhittable" by the Scarabs turret.
But they did work, somehow, ever since.
Horizon was just way more efficient most of the time

Usually, they give the rewards in one-two days after the CG.

Check after the Thursday downtime, that's when CG's update and when rewards start becoming available

Yeah, no. MS farming may be more entertaining for you, but for pure grind rate Jameson's wins hands down.


I haven't measured it but Jameson have few limitations. It provides one type of g5 and one g4. Once you max those you are done and need to go and down/cross trade which makes it very ineffective. MS on other hand gives 3-8 mats with each hack with few g5 and g4 from different categories, including MEF so cross trade is less needed.

I prefer waiting few seconds for a hack than spinning my turret around. But I visit the cobra for the mats it provides as cross trading is BS!

I've never tried megaship hacking. Can you do it multiple times with relogging?

Yes, relogski work.

The procedure:
1. Data scan MS
2. Data scan hackable comm array/relay/whatever
3. Sub-target port and launch recon limpet.
Important: Engage silent running before limpet attaches and then befor hitting 100%. This is required to avoid being attacked by MS or getting bounty in non-anarchy systems.

Note: materials are granted after hacking all ports (One or two. The two port variant sometimes drop data as canister for scooping)

I have a few MS bookmarked here on Inara. Let me know if someone needs them.

Edit: https://inara.cz/station/164649/ is currently in Anarchy system. They jump each Thursday

2 data scans take roughly 30 sec and the hack lasts probably a 60-90 sec with limpet attaching. After the hack completes data is obtained instantly. Relog time is same as everywhere.

It takes 35 seconds to scan the 4 nodes. After which you will have received ~3 T5, 2-3 T4 and 2 T2-3 mat awards (x3 ofc). Even dividing by 6 for off category mat trading Jameson's is still almost twice as fast and without hassles. So then the question becomes about travel and trade down time which is needed every 11-13 relogs. Can you do 6 MS runs in the time it takes to suicide, trade down, make 2 jumps, travel 1000ls, glide, land, and deploy the SRV? Also, you'll need limpets and to trade mats eventually, just not as much. While I am surprised the math is closer than I thought, Jamesons still wins clearly when you consider the sheer amount of T5 mats you get every relog.

Obviously MS farming is far more entertaining, much less 'grindy' and excellent for topping up when your supplies are say at half, but, when you just need to absolutely farm the mats as fast and easily as possible. Jamesons FTW.
