Ryan MurdocI understand it's quite problematic to have conversations when you're in VR.

Not only in VR. Sometimes I receive direct messages that I just can't reply to because /r and /d won't work.

I accidentally found a minable source of hafnium. The funny part? I was not playing the game. And that's enough info for you to find it too.

Kegaira OhayaI've come across two interesting behaviors while fighting thargoids in sosong
1) an interceptor turning off all its lights when under 50% hull
2) another interceptor opened a rift and bailed into witch-space right in the middle of getting shot by me and two more commanders (in open). One moment it was there and the other moment it was just *poof* gone and only the residual thargoid wake remained, but the interceptor never did the classic sequence of "jumping", it just vanished in one fragment of a second. But the really weird part comes after: The two commanders and me started flying around the instance (it was a threat 5 signal with a cyclops) and this is how we noticed there was in fact a thargoid wake and that the interceptor did not just combat-log (haha). But, while we were flying around and trying to figure out what just happened, our ships computers said "energy surge detected" and we got blasted by a thargoid emp wave and our ships got the classic power-off disruption that interceptors do. But the cyclops was not there... It was like it was attacking us from witch-space were it vanished into. After that we continued to get signals about energy surges and signal disruptions but the cyclops never got back and we left.

Do you think those 2 behaviors are upgraded stealth abilities or bugs (not pun intended)?

With new Thargoid incursions closer to the bubble, and some other odd stuff I've heard, I wonder if they slipped in an update to Thargoid behavior. It's about time - the Thargoid story has really stagnated.

You are not only one who has a unsuall recent experience with Tgoids. I am fighting in Novas system. There are lot of stationar NHSS like POI. I was in threat 7 with medusa and maybe after 4th heart the deck CPU said: ,,Warning capital class ship signature detected" In that moment I was scared. Only one thing come on my mind-the thargoid mothership. But nothing strange and new happened.

It is also worth mentioning that guardian ruins had been subject of strange behaviors as well, more specifically the data obelisks displaying a pattern we have not been able to decipher as far as I know

They've been bugged for years ...like a lot of the game at times

Ah, ok, sometimes NPCs just want to shoot someone down just because they have no cargo. All of you of course know this already, but I think it's rather good to keep this thing up. My policy of never submitting to an interdiction might need a revision. How far out of the Bubble the regular pirates come? Do I really have to find this out myself? Thinking of investing a few Sidewinders (with suicidal pilots) to check this.

Mainly this is to do with exploration builds, how far out should you do a dash back to a station. I see no point in exploring a system at least 350 lys from bubble with a regular exploration ship. Exploring nearer to Bubble is so dangerous you need to build a vessel capable of taking some hits or fight the idiot NPC demanding non-existent cargo. So a suicide squad of exploration sidewinders might be a choice. If you get interdicted while doing scans, carrying no cargo, just ram the npc and start over.

I think this may be a bit of a silly question, but, i have collected a large number of engineered modules as I have progressed that are no longer useful. What does everyone do with that stuff?
24 Apr 2022, 1:47pm
i would like to say sell them to a player who need them but that isn't possible so far i know.. only the pioneer stuff can be sold and bought, like a exchange from player to player. i have much usefull, but not needed moduls too. you can only sell them in a shop and they are gone.. only rebuy by yourself is available so long you are docked.

i think most people just get rid of them, its a bit anoying after engineering them.If you could get youre materials back that you used to engineer them it would be nice but you cant

It depends on the module and engineering really. I keep most of mine in storage just in case. If you've done something like max engineered a 5E FSD for fast boot and integrity then yeah sell it.

Alas, as I expected. Thanks for the feedback. Safe travels.

I would either re-engineer them into something you want assuming the module itself is still relevant to your gameplay, or bite the bullet and sell them. Of course if you have a lot of remaining room for storage then it doesn't really matter.
