They have homes in the permit locked systems. Their society is bio-industrialized, they grow all things natural way instead of producing them on the factories like humans. But it is somewhat slow and it takes time to crop, and I don't think they concern much of losing their combat ships because they always could harvest more, and most likely their ships are the entities themselves and they do not require living thargoid cmdrs to operate. Thargoids are not losing their subjects in wars and don't make funerals for their ships. They look at the humans and other similar civilizations like something temporary (like locust), they come and go...

I'm sure that this must have been asked and answered before, but how do I increase my novice rank for combat?

Also, how do I earn the combat vouchers required to unlock engineers?

you have to do some fighting to raise the rang.. like kill missions, pirate hunting, bounty hunting, ground or space cz and so on.. on ground you can raise it very fast and you dont need a good ship.. for space i would preper a ship for combat.. for one engineer you need federal combat bonds to unlock..

TL;DR from ED wiki page combat rank:
You need to kill ships. Nothing else matter. Higher ranked ships give more progress than lower ranked.

Combat bonds in Space conflict zones POIs in systems in War/Civil War.
Bounty vouchers from killing WANTED ships - ideally in different RES (Resource Extraction Sites), around Nav beacons, etc.

you can go and hunt thargoid scouts, scouts are elite so fast progress in your combat rank, put ax multi cannons and have fun, look for non human signal sources threat 3 or 4 (NHSS 3,4) in Asterope system or any other system that has NHSS signals

Actually scouts are not elite any more. That was fixed long ago.

that can't be true. im doing only ground combat science a few weeks and my combat rang is raising fast. only killed a hand full of ships the last week.

Odyssey is an odd thing. Killing scavengers in a settlement do not improve mercenary rank but combat rank while mercenary rank increases only by doin conflict zones ...a messed BS.

Some people do not have access to this mess, so no glorious legs combat exploits for them.

It has some logic as mercenary is a gun for hire, so the rank increases just on the related activity and apparently they do not want to have the same activity to contribute to multiple ranks at once, or at least at the same level (so Combat in this case, not sure if there is a reduced contribution or no contribution at all). But I agree it's not very intuitive, although there seems to be a quite logical reason behind it. The main problem is rather in the perception of players, as some perceive Mercenary as all on-foot combat stuff and Combat as on-ship combat stuff, others perceive it like Combat is for on-foot and on-ship combat in general and so on.

Bitteschön. Es gibt mehrere wirklich gute Websites von Drittanbietern, die dabei helfen können, das Grind ein wenig einfacher zu machen. Zögern Sie nicht, um Hilfe zu bitten. Die meisten sind mehr als bereit, hier zu helfen.


Sind sie auch ein ps4 Spieler spiele es vorwiegend nur da hab ja damals vor 4 Jahren angefangen zu spielen aber aus privaten Gründen hatte ich aufgehört jetzt nach so langer Zeit hat sich ja auch einiges getan was das spielen auf console echt bissel einferer macht immer noch in meinen auclgen eines der schönsten und aufregendsten spiele die ich bis jetzt gespielt habe und sehr anspruchsvolle Mal nicht ein Game was mann nach paar Monaten durch gespielt hat gibt ja immer was neues


Ich spiele nur am PC. Ich habe festgestellt, dass mir die Fähigkeiten fehlen, um mit Konsolen gut umgehen zu können. Dieses Spiel macht sehr viel Spaß. Ich spiele jetzt seit ungefähr einem Jahr, bin aber überhaupt nicht enttäuscht worden. Es ist sicher einer meiner Favoriten.

You increase your rank by fighting other ships. The combat rank increases by all ship combat but increases faster by fighting ships of a higher rank. Also Thargoid scouts are a good way to increase your rank quickly. As far as the combat bonds. You can only get them in combat zones. You may want to stick to the low threat zones until you get your ships and weapons engineered as in the higher leveled zones the ships you go against will be engineered to a higher level.

Das schöne an dem Spiel ist einfach sobald du überheblich wirst oder Fehler machst das Mann gleich bestraft wird so wie ich eben

just translating, maybe they speak no english..

for the german guys (für die deutschen teilnehmer):

es wäre nett wenn ihr eure posts in englisch verfasssen könntet damit auch andere commanders wissen worüber geredet wird und gegebenfalls antworten geben können ohne jedesmal den google translator anwerfen zu müssen.. fast jeder hier nutz englisch im forum und wenn ihr hilfe braucht oder fragen habt helf ich auch gern weiter, ihr könnt mir dann auch mal eine personal message in deutsch schreiben
