About salvations "superweapon" it may cause the Thargoids to go extinct in which many secrets about them goes along with the Thargoids. We may learn a few things that aren't known from the Thargoids.

KrynesurI think the superweapon won't work. As for what it will do with the Thargoid presence, I think it will at least increase the amount of Thargoid hotspots.

In before Salvation is an undercover pro-Xeno, and his weapons will actually make it so that Thargoids end up being common place throughout the bubble. No where will be safe from Thargoids.

Henrique_TorvalWhat other cmdrs think about salvation community goal , is going to succeed ? Or it’s going be a failure and start a bubble invasion ?

We don't need Salvation! We can save ourselves!

It would be a foolish idea for Thargoids to suddenly go extinct. It would destroy both pro-Xeno and anti-Xeno groups. A.X. weapons would be nullified.

You are right in my opinion! The amount of Thargoids may increase if this "superweapon" fails. Unkown secrets about the Thargoids may be lost due to their extinction meaning we wouldn't gain anything. If I were to choose between going against Salvation or be with Salvation, I would be going against him. Though I may not be nearby, anyone opposing Salvation, I'll be rooting for you.

Here is what I think you will see. Proteus wave is used. One week will pass, All Xeno sightings in game will Cease, I mean almost NO Thargoids will be reported

Then it happens, some where. I dunno where. A station, A system, A new hyperdiction occurs to a player and its a Thargoid Hive Ship (CAP ship equivalent) and possibly, a few weeks later, as we all are just getting into the idea of oh no new goid ship , yawn this was lame sets in and then

Guardian AI , out of all corners, Thargoids and Guardians fighting, All over the bubble, Popping in and out, attacking us, each other
Bubble burns,
Colonia Bridge activates , Project Dynasty Sites go hot
Basically, Its going down all over the bubble and we gotta fight on two fronts at once.

But I am literally a space crazy ex meido, dont listen to me

If the Proteus will work, that gonna be boring. In every other case, it looks like a fun.

Hmmmmmmm

about the Guardian ships, aren't they gonna be drones or something but definitely wanna see that.

I forgot to mention, I love the Thargoids are giving us the false sense of security like we won but actually no its an all out war.

My guess:

When the wave is fired, Thargoids disappear from all but a few strongholds.

Then it's back to 2018 where the 'goids spread algorithmically unless opposed by the player base. If things get out of hand, the wave "fires again" at the weekly reset and the 'goids are god-handed back to their starting lines.

Best case, we get some new weapon/module/engineering that makes low-level AX more accessible.

If this were the case, I love this idea, but on a monthly basis it resets the thargoids so people can cash in on those S T A C K E D B O N D S.

For those who use Fixed Long-Range lasers, do you use/prefer beam or pulse and for what reason? I can see reasons for each, I would just like to get a feel for if there is one that has distinct advantages over the other or if it is just personal preference.

From what I know: beams have more DPS, and pulses have the best 'damage per energy usage' ratio. But I'm no specialist in them.

Well my thoughts are:
Time-on-target would be less since you would need to be more precise to hit fewer pixels, which tells me beams would probably have an advantage because of quicker damage output, but pulse can have Emissive Munitions to keep target lockable. And since they would be fixed lasers, I would not be able to have more than 2-3 converge on a target at one time (or am I underestimating that?) since micro-gimballing can only do so much for more spread out hardpoints. I have not used fixed lasers much so I don't know how well they converge at longer distances. I am thinking at ranges 2-6km. The EDSA site only goes out to 1.5km so I'm not sure if convergence improves after that. If engineering wasn't so tedious I would just make a few and try it out but... ugh. I do have a few Fixed Thermal Vent Beams Lasers so maybe I can try it when I get back to the bubble (again) in a few weeks. If it doesn't really matter much I will probably just use pulse.

Proteus Wave fired and Thargs run but not killed.
Isolated attacks on outlying settlements, then
August update: foot thargs. This is long overdue and makes sense to promote playable Odyssey.
New narrative to investigate foot ax weaponry & suit
