Elite: Game talk

RawnuThe Thargoid party has moved to Reynolds' Inheritance in the Holvandalla system. Pew pew, see you there!

It looks like it's 100% now, no?

For both this system and others, so I better understand the game mechanic: Does 100% mean that AXCZs are no longer available in the system? Or just that the "invasion" has been won (and AXCZs will still be there until the duration is complete)?

100% is what it says on the label here - the systems are functionally ‘dead’ to any combat or mission opportunities at that point, and while some AXCZs might persist as POIs in system, all you will find is NPCs circling endlessly with zero Thargoids in sight.

Frontier - presumably - decided to include this “feature” to reduce the amount of wasted player effort but I think all that it did was lead to players getting rather annoyed about “All the invasions are dead on the weekend already, but I didn’t get to play until Saturday/Sunday/Monday/whatever”, and quite a few did not appear to care for their “wasted progress” as long as they had fun. While those who naturally moved along to the next ongoing invasion did so anyway, so it was one of those “trying to herd cats” moments, which I can’t say exactly how successful it was.

It’s also not a fix to poor balancing leading to a state which can last weeks routinely getting cleared in less than a day, and all of them generally being taken out by Monday-Tuesday, if not earlier.

That's what I thought and I agree with the sense of "well, I guess I missed it"

Well, so I just witnessed a funny little thing in game that makes me want to write a story about the brave AX pilot Galloway… who wandered into Raijin’s space too early and then disappeared into the caustic cloud, never to be seen again.

Hope we'll get an endless kind of fun after the Titan war, with stations, AXCZs and maybe even Titan bombing available at any, or almost, time. Everything points at it though, but I'm still not sure.

I'm quiet happy alternating between Combat in CZs and Passenger missions, the Robigo run works at multiple Ranking levels, EXPLORER, TRADE and of course Credit, I reached EXPLORER Elite IV yesterday and am already 1% passed it with only a few runs and my materials INVENTORY is looking better after each run...

On the other hand, I'm gonna stop using Premium Ammo and save for engineering the next ship...

It's all hopeless, until puny humans build The Ship Stacker.
It's a "ship" that combines 3+ ships and amplifies their combined shields and firing power.
One ship becomes a "captain" the rest are taking care of the weapons.
It can shoot as one mega-weapon, or each ship separately at a different targets with massive boos from the TSS Rev-Shields (shield that soak up enemy fire and use it in reverse for anything exiting from the protected side).
No, it's not a fleet carrier. It's a large magical cylinder completely useless on its own. OK, has few manoeuvring thrusters and com and...

Show up with that, zap few spiky ones out of the existence and if they have any instincts even remotely similar to self preservation, they will back off and game devs need to come up with a next enemy (or someone, we decide to turn against us... as usual). Maybe Brain Trees are getting sick of us taking their materials and decide to wipe us out. You never know.

What a perfect description of me.

Nice. What was your rank the first time you were killed?

What's increasing your Exploration so well? I took mine Elite a while ago, but haven't really chased it since.
I'm so close to Elite in Combat; I really want it to happen while in an AXCZ, but it may end up being some random CNB.
Meanwhile, my Trade is... as dull as I find the effort for it. LOL

Robigo Runs, that's 4 jumps per run and even if it's been nerfed a bit you still can make 20 million per run in average if you're after Credit, at the moment, it's materials I'm after...

Before they nerfed it, you could literally do those runs one after another, that's 5/6 per hour (up to 1000 million+), now, passengers aren't coming as fast as before, so I have to log out and take a break...

Also every time I change system CZs, I do it with my Fleet Carrier, <> once or twice a week depending on how long the CZ last, this might well contribute a little.

Every 1% Combat Elite ranking I do a 6 Jumps trip from CZs to Robigo.

Got it. I'll have to look into Robigo. I know I said I would, a while back, but got caught up in other activities (i.e. AX) and builds.

All you need is a ship (medium Pad) with 7 cabins and 32 Ly Jump Range.

If a passenger ask you to "kill enemies", disembark him/her or you'll be interdicted and fired upon.

Hmmm... A thought that wandered into my mind randomly. Is there any reason to keep old Sirius non-SCO drives? Except some niche builds (if any) which I don't have?

AX, if done well, can be quite profitable. A single starport defence scenario can make you 500mil+ richer. AXCZs probably too, but you're going to need missions, and it's easier to get them at ports. There are 'Kill 2 Hydras' missions available at attacked starports, usually 60-something-mil each and they appear after you gain some rep by doing other stuff like Cyclopes. Stack them, one from every faction present. 120mil for 2 Hydras in bonds, 50mil for the scenario completion and 300mil+ for missions. Plus any lesser stuff you manage to get before that. Do PGs of you can't kill those Hydras alone, there are players who can carry, or just a lot of people shooting at one poor bastard.
