Mac4Ugh. I'm at Rukbat B, trying to teach myself to supercharge. Following all the online instructions and stuff, which seem straightforward enough, but so far, nothing seems to give Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

E.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtsrmbdQpSI or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vnEoFOSHIY , that's exactly what I (think I) am doing, but no luck so far. Hmm. With them, it seems to go quickly, too.

There are different neutrons, but make sure you practice on ones with a little exclusion zone and a lot of "tail". It's basically like the video. Come in at an angle and come in SLOW. I even like to cut my throttle until the charge is complete.

Thanks, it's what I was trying to do. Guess I'll try some more. I was going real slow, though didn't want to risk going full stop. Guess I should. Or, perhaps try a different star. This one was just conveniently close by. (Well, in-system it's a 200k+ flight. There's an FC parked right on top of it, haha, the Mv Lighthouse Keeper, that you can land at without issue )

It's all part ofc of my thinking to get ready for my next big step, to head out to Colonia for the first time. Those 600+ hops are a bit daunting to say the least, gulp. I figured I'd hang around first to see the grand conclusion of events at HIP-whatsitsname, but it's starting to look pretty drawn-out. Although I was reminded next week should be a big update, so maybe that will bring about something meaty. Who knows.

I found a neutron star about a week ago and the jets were spinning so fast it looked like it was glitching. It scared the **** out of me. More so than dropping out of hyperspace and going through a close orbiting star.

I wish we can see very wide spinning angle for NS, so it's a real pulsar. And if spinning is too fast it will be even scarier.

Hmm. Although looking up some stuff at Edsy again, it seems to me the Diamondback Explorer can be easily outfitted (well, save for all the engineering again ) to have the far superior jump range than my current Anaconda, no matter what I do to it.

In fact I had a DBX on the short and rocky road to where I am today, and it seemed to me to do better in terms of jumping, but I was young and foolish then (all in a manner of the last few months, lol ) and so I didn't keep track of its stats. Nor was I sure now if that was the case. But so maybe I should build me a new one, eh.

If you're planning on taking the neutron highway to Colonia, the conda will be a better ship for you. Neutron stars tend to throw you around in a DBX and while you can get free, it is more difficult and you might take damage. The conda hardly notices the neutron tail. But do take an AFMU with you just in case. You can keep it unpowered until you need it. In a conda you might want repair limpets as well. There's now a bridge of stations en route to Colonia that can repair any damage but they're not directly on any neutron route.

A couple of points, if you do get in trouble in a neutron star. The first is 'don't panic!' If you can't get out, cut your engines and take any hot modules offline except your thrusters & fsd. Neutron stars will pull you out of SC and kill you with heat damage but with everything turned off you'll get around 10-15mins. Plenty of time.
If you are still in SC, try to jump to a nearby star (without supercharging). Aligning the target may be hard in a small ship. Otherwise, target the neutron star and head directly away as much as you can.
If you've been pulled out of SC. Target the neutron star and then put it directly behind you. When you hit supercruise you will see escape trajectory. Wait until the SC is most-way charged, line up the escape as much as you can and boost. You will take some heat damage, but should be away from the star.

That sounds like excellent advice, QM, duly noted. Thanks.

It would also have the obvious advantage of having the trusty conda with me (with a few amendments. Repair limpets good tip!, hadn't thought of it. AFMU + high-grade fuel scoop are on the list, easily slotted in my ample cargo space I reckon), rather than arriving in Colonia or god knows where with an exploration ship fit for long-distance travel and not much else -- hardly any defences, storage space or anything (that is to say, the DBX I had in mind).

I'm also considering taking the bridge instead, yeah. Would hopefully allow for some trading along the way, by way of something to do (but cutting down on jump range if I do). Long journey either way, no doubt. Haven't quite made up my mind yet. Had hoped it might be combined with some neutron jumping, but I guess not really then, figures.

If I don't bother with any Exobiology, have a jump range around 50ly, and use the DSS (not to probe/map, only to manually target/scan) for every planet/moon in every system along a normal jump route, it takes me somewhere in the 20-30 hour range for a one-way trip, and I make lots of exploration rank progress along the way. I use the nebulae as my waypoints, some of which coincide with the bridge locations. I usually listen to music when I'm on personal expeditions. It is neat the first time going out there seeing the skybox changes. If you only jump and don't bother with scanning, it probably takes less than half that time. I'm told the neutron highway only takes a couple hours or so for one way if you can work your magic.

Looking to buy 6000 units of tritium at 130,000 per @USS Enterprise please and thanks o7

So, are you going to spam us daily with your tritium needs?
Perhaps you can try posting on the bulletin board or even searching tritium exports in commodity section and realise that there are few thousand tons at higher price.

Colonia, have negligible tritium production, so every ton tritium sold is carried from the Bubble or hard mined. Do not hope to dictate the price as a customer when there is short supply and high demand

Hey Buddy;
Just a small hint from your friendly trader;
this is just not enough information.

Where is your carrier?
There are literally 21 carriers listed in Inara, under the name of USS Enterprise!
I ain't gonna fly to each one of them to check!

You are hiding all information about your profile, so I can't even find it on your own Commander page.

Furthermore;
Update you carrier on Inaras market page.
I just checked Inaras market for Tritium.
The is no carrier under the name of "Enterprise" near the 130.000 Credits section.
Is you carrier listed and visible on the Inara market tab?

Mate, just posting a demand here just will not work this way.
Sorry

EpisparhSir-Duke, the guy wrote yesterday that it is in Colona so if you want to try -> https://inara.cz/elite/station/194812/

Oh, thanks...
I missed that. Sorry.
Welp, that's a bit unlucky then...
