Alex Hoffmanndid they earn money if you are using a non compatible multicrew ship, like for some exploration trips? atm i doing much exploration and soon will get the payout.. btw. can´t belive that there are still unexplored planets at some famous location.. first landed and found some unexplored plants at Nereus' Gift - Eoch Pruae UA-E d12-237
They earn (steal) money regardless of what you are doing. Any activity, any ship, no ship. I bought one and never used her. She spent all her time in the lounge and still took my creds. ;(

hehe, she was a bad girl
i used my mate(s) often at the starting phase but last times (months) no need for them.. maybe it´s time to get rid of some.. only one i like to keep.. she was aside and leveled up from beginning.

Yuna Sakashiro4,000+ hours in and I never had NPC crew...
I'm still less than 3k hours. Well... less than 3k hours according to Steam. But I had the game through Frontier before I migrated to Steam so maybe more than 3k hours altogether. I only had one crewmember for a few weeks just before Odyssey came out. It took me forever to find one with an avatar I liked... then Odyssey messed it all up.

If you hired high ranked pilot you will end paying double than if you have trained her from harmless. Harmless pilots trained to elit gets 10%, while if you hire expert and train her to elit she will get 20% cut.

I don't know about the "trustworthy community" nonsense
I was pretty sure, that it was on the frontier forum, and some dudes tested it mutliple times with a throwaway account, furthermore even some moderators agreed on the term...
But since I can't find it anymore, the proof is gone.
Nevertheless, it wasn't reddit or the steam forum, that's for sure.
I wouldn't quote anything from the steam discussions, that's what I meant with "trustworthy".

Yuna Sakashiro Check the last update time. All the class 8 drives cost 0 Cr and were last updated more than a year ago. Looks like a temporary glitch in EDDN that lead to some stale data in Inara's database.
I know the wiki mentions it: "Class 8 Frame Shift Drives are also available in Outfitting inventories at some stations, but because no existing ship is capable of equipping a FSD of that size, they cannot be purchased or used."
I'd guess it's either an intentional carrot left dangling in front of people's noses, or it's a leftover of something that was planned but never implemented, but I know nothing more about it. Maybe if someone could date that note would be helpful.

Not sure exactly what that is in hours...

Well I started playing shortly after the 1.0 release so it has been a few years. There were about 2 or so years I didn't touch the game at all however. And even last year I was only on for about 2-3 hours per week for a sizeable portion of the year.
In-game, mine says: "Approximate time played: 20W 6D 12H 5M"
So just over 3500 hours I guess. About 50% of that is probably supercruise...
